Post Op Day 20 Update

crazy to see how much has changed in the past 3 weeks! my skin has stretched out even further so i have less of a “pec split” and “side-profile torpedo” look hahahaha. still very perky but much more natural looking now. also seems like it’s looking bigger (probably because the implants are less squished down by my skin)
though i think due to the skin stretching, my whole chest has been VERY VERY itchy. literally the whole area :’) i’ve found that a light moisturising cream helps to soothe the itch a little. i use the ego QV skin lotion lol
other than that, life is pretty much back to normal! such as...
- almost full range of motion in my arms (still a little tight when i lift it upwards & backwards)
- speed walking back to full speed (though i’m more out of breath than usual haha)
- extra bloats and soreness mostly gone
- showering & washing my hair by myself is no longer a struggle
- getting out of bed by myself (still relying on rolling to the side first, before elbow-propping myself up)
- comfortable wearing cute clothes that show off the melons (with the exception of high compression pieces)
however some things still have not changed much
- still sleeping on my back, sleeping on the side is a little uncomfy and i don’t wanna risk deforming the gals while they’re still healing
- nipples aren’t as sensitive as they used to be, but numbness still remains the same
- still feeling extra out of breath and tired. but maybe it’s my poor stress management...
- insanely good appetite LOL been eating too much snacks lately
- i don’t think i’m cleared for exercising such as running but i don’t think i want to any time soon :’( not very comfortable at the moment
- clothes with high compression on the chest are uncomfortable
just been cleaning the scar area daily with soapy water during showers as i sweat a lot, before covering with the silicone scar tape provided by SW1. since it’s reusable i rinse it every shower & only replace it once it loses its stickiness
i’ve also been doing mobility stretches for my arms when i remember! will update again when i go back for another follow up on the 23rd feb. overall feeling good and recovering well :-)

Post Op Day 7 Check-up

(also uploaded the “numb areas” pic i keep forgetting to!!!)

prior to the check up, my incision was protected by this amazing waterproof plaster/band-aid hahaha it did not budge at all during the 7 days even after some scrubbing in the shower

anyway the plaster was removed, incision area was cleaned and a semi water proof scar tape was used in place of the plaster. finally got to take a look at my scars and they’re a little dark but it doesn’t bother me. Dr Chia also mentioned that she does a bit of a curved incision which looks more natural vs a straight line that looks a little odd.

i was then fitted with an underwire lace bra that has extra room at the bottom for the girls to drop further, while still providing the support below to prevent them from getting out of shape during the “d&f” stage. paid S$20 for the bra. honestly felt like it should be free since i just spent $15k+ but oh well... at least no consult fees as it’s already included in the initial payment.

on the bright side, i was originally a 32-34A. and i’m currently wearing a 34C bra yay!!! now my chest area is looking much less tighter than it originally was, so my boobs do look larger than when the implants were first inserted. implants are still seated high up and my side profile looks kinda weird.
numbness situation is still pretty much the same. breasts are feeling a little softer when poked at, tho there’s no bounce as my skin is still super tight. feels like i’m constantly wearing a push up bra hahahaha
can’t wait to see their progress over the next few weeks :-)

also no more medications prescribed.

will be back at SW1 clinic approx 3 weeks later for another follow-up session :-)
overall i’m currently happy with my size, and the warm and professional service SW1 has provided thus far.

Post Op Days 3-9 Experiences

finally got my lazy ass to do an update haha. just a little over a week has passed since the op and i’ve gone back for my 1st follow-up check! but the days leading up to that...

1. medication, pain & numbness
been super diligent and taking all the pills as prescribed :-)
the first 5 days were the worst. my chest was soooo tight and sore, but pain was pretty minimal and manageable thanks to the pain killers. finished all the weaker versions but stayed away from the optional strong ones. (i don’t like the idea of taking too much medication). currently pain is minimal
also been feeling numb at the lower half of my chest beneath nipple height (see illustration pic). nipples were numb at first, but have gradually turned very sensitive (they sting/feel sore when touched) but they still mostly feel numb???
breathing was kinda tough. laughing too hard, coughing, sneezing, and hiccups are your worst enemy (speaking from 1st hand experience HAHA they hurt so bad and i was so scared my stitches would burst open)

2. appetite & bowel movements
my appetite has been at an all-time high haha. been constantly hungry and perhaps consuming over 2k kcals a day even though i’m not exercising :’(
moderate-high protein (at least 75g+ of protein to hopefully aid healing) vegan diet with plenty of fruits, veggies and treats haha... just can’t seem to stay away from the oreos & vegan almond magnum :’))
somehow thirsty all the time and have been drinking min 1 litre of water daily
i also have to mention my bowel movements are surprisingly very active :0 especially post op days 2-5 where i’m crapping like 4-5 times a day LOL i think it must be the medication.

3. movement & body image
as mentioned above... the 5+ days post op was a somewhat manageable nightmare. skin tightness was 11/10 and i was pretty much the hunchback of notre dame throughout as it was too sore and painful to stand upright.
my neck and lower back were killing me due to all the hunching. the back massager machine came in handy in loosening up a little.
getting out of bed was a huge struggle for the 1st ~4 days where i had to slide off bed or i had to call someone to prop myself LOL. subsequently had enough energy to rock back and forth to create momentum to sit up haha. achievement unlocked to very slowly roll to my side and prop myself up on day 7-8.
i still can’t sit myself upright as per normal as it uses the upper abdominal muscles that in turn aggravate the wound sooo that’s still a bit of a struggle.

walking was a nightmare as every movement aggravated the wound area. basically i was feeling super sore, tired and out of breath.

exercise was definitely out of the equation and as a person who exercises regularly... seeing myself gain some lower belly and arm size does feel a little demoralising :’( ngl i didn’t feel my best. but it’s okie i shall focus on my recovery so i can bounce back to my usual routine asap!

4. rest, recovery, rehab & mobility
sleep was definitely one of my priorities to boost recovery. i typically sleep at ungodly hours (4am/all-nighters) but i’ve been sleeping typically before 1-2am and getting at least 8 hours of rest. definitely have feeling more exhausted than usual so i’ve also been taking naps during the day when i feel the need to.
as diligent i am on the medication, i haven’t been as consistent with the rehab exercises hahaha oops. been doing a few reps of arm raises here and there when i remember to do so.
mobility-wise, it’s been getting much better day by day! finally was able to raise my arms to wash my hair on day 2-3 post op and can fully extend my arms upwards now (9 days post op).

overall, i’m feeling pretty good and happy with the results. SW1 clinic also kindly answered my questions on whatsapp and sent a sweet encouragement message hehe. post op 1 week follow-up check review coming up next!
