Near- Death Experience, My Life Will Never Be The Same.

I know! I’m late for the party but here I am telling my story! I got the procedure done by Dr. Zachary Iyore Okhah and my life is forever changed. I hope you don’t overlook the red flags like I did before your surgery so you can make the right decision for yourself. Let me first agree with everyone that his coordinator Evelyn has poor customer service skills, she offended me a few times and this is definitely not acceptable. To avoid being emotional, I will share my experience as bullet points. I went for my surgery in April of 2021. I was an out of State patient, so I traveled to Florida for the procedure. I met Dr. Zach the day of the surgery. He performed surgeries in the morning before meeting me and he looked exhausted at the time of my surgery. He used a lot of profanity words in his communication which threw me off. I usually expected some professionalism from my doctors, and this was just inappropriate. I was anemic at the time of the surgery and didn’t know about it. Dr. Zach performed the surgery despite my anemic condition instead of canceling or rescheduling the surgery like any reasonable surgeon would do. He overlooked the lab work. My hemoglobin level was abnormal. I underwent the surgery despite my anemic condition. This lack of attention to my abnormal lab results further exacerbated the mental and emotional toll of the surgery, leaving me with lasting scars both physically and psychologically. Dr. Zach advanced his medical techniques on me without my consent. I signed up for standards of care for this type of surgery. He decided to not insert drainage tubes at the surgery. Drainage tubes are necessary to collect fluid after the operation. This creates an unsanitary environment for me and everyone as I bled everywhere and failed to estimate the inappropriate amount of bleeding and fluid. He can’t advance his medical techniques whenever he was inspired at the OR without research and regulations. Also, I woke up with laceration that was not mentioned by the preoperative nurse as we talked about the wounds and where each one will be, so I know what to expect after I wake up from the surgery. At my post-op visit, which was the next morning of the surgery, Dr. Okhah failed to diagnose and treat me after he was made aware of my critical condition by his nurse, Sofia Barrera. At the post op visit, I had abnormal vital signs, excessive bleeding and lost consciousness twice in front of the medical staff, yet I was sent home without being seen by Dr. Zach. This post-op-visit was not documented in my medical records! like it never happened!! The next day, I had near-death experience! I was slowly dying in my bed and swimming in my own fluid and blood. I was in excruciating pain and couldn’t ask for help as my body was shutting down dramatically. I was helpless and suffering in slow death..... I was rushed to the ER, hospitalized and treated immediately. After spending a couple of days at the hospital and getting stable enough to check my phone from my hospital bed, I realized my doctor’s office didn’t check on me! Ladies! I was alone in Miami and scared! I had to inform Dr. Okhah about my hospitalization a couple of days after my hospital admission date as he never checked on me. No one from his office did! although they witnessed me losing conscience in front of them.... It was disheartening to realize that I had been let down by the very person who was supposed to prioritize my well-being and recovery........ I had a virtual post-op appointment with Dr. Zach. I reached out and met him virtually to get closure and ask if anything went wrong during the surgery?! as the injuries I sustained and complications I developed were questionable by the doctors at the hospital. A month later, I reached out again to Dr. Okhah. as I realized I had been mutilated and I had a laceration that wouldn’t heal. I explained my abdominal area is botched. Despite my clear communication about wanting an athletic, natural look, the surgeon disregarded my wishes and gave me an unwanted hip and unevenly distributed huge buttocks. This was extremely disappointing considering I was the ideal candidate for the athletics BBL. I'm a health-conscious and very active individual. I never had children, in my twenties and my BMI is very reasonable. I just needed a booster! I thought that was his specialties, women with my body type! His inability to deliver even remotely satisfactory results left me feeling frustrated and betrayed. It is the worst feeling ever, especially after all what I went through....... He was dismissive and of course gaslighted me at that virtual visit. He assured me that my results would get better after the fat settles down and the swelling goes down. “I should exercise and eat healthy” and blah blah blah and I should give it 6 months before judging the results. I can assure you ladies that I eat healthier, and exercise more often than the average person would. I get massages frequently as well, but Dr. Zach doesn’t understand that this won’t fix his sloppy job. After waiting for the recommended six months, I saw no improvement in my appearance. It became clear that the surgeon's promises were empty, and his expertise was questionable. I formally requested my medical records on Nov 30, 2021. He withheld the medical records for a couple years hoping the statute of limitation for malpractice in Florida would expire, so he wouldn’t be subject to lawsuit. After multiple attempts to get the medical records, Dr. Zach decided to release incomplete medical records on Augst 15,2023. Two years after the first attempt to obtain the medical record. Pre-op photos and post-op appointments are not included in the chart he sent. This is unethical behavior for a medical doctor. After having a phone conversation with him recently regarding his medical negligence and poor documentation, He assured me that the chart they sent on August 15,2023 is the complete medical record and they don't have anything else to send. Why don’t I see my pre-ops photos and my post appointments in the chart he sent then?! I am gathering the courage to confront him. I received a response from his lawyer by an overnight delivered mail, you guys!!!! He was trying to intimidate me! He threatened to sue me if I ever shared my opinion with the public, investigate Dr. Zach’s educational background, file complaints or contact Ph-1 Miami directly and I should contact him only if I have any concerns! I was dismissed. This is of course is backfiring as I don’t like to be intimidated and I don’t certainly appreciate my first amendment being threatened. Last time I checked, this was still America, and I can protest under his clinic if I want to. If anyone will question Dr. Zach’s educational background after all I have been through from medical negligence to poor bedside manner, it will be me. He has too many errors, it is overflowing. I was medically neglected, threatened to be sued if I God forbid complained, and got dismissed. I fell for his false advertising, and I see him desperately advertising his suffering business on IG after the 2023 PR crisis. This is by far the worst experience in my whole life. I hope no one is falling for this anymore. I made home alive thankfully. I’m still living with my mutilated body and trauma, but so grateful to make it home alive.
