7 Months Post Op

So it has been 7 months since my surgery in June 2019. I do love my results. My butt definitely has gotten bigger since surgery. Trust the process. Whatever your insecure with after surgery, it will probably get better. Looking to lose about 20lbs, but overall I feel confident and sexier than ever.

BBL Experience W/Spectrum Aesthetics

My friend and I made the decision to get the BBL W/liposuction 360. From start to finish, my experience with Spectrum Aesthetics was stressful to say the least. The only time i ever got a response back from anyone including my surgical coordinator, Lizbeth, was if she needed to collect a payment or when I needed to add my inner thigh liposuction to the surgery.
My first impression upon arriving at Spectrum was overwhelming to say the least. Women were walking around with pain written all over their faces. Some had blood stained clothing and compression socks. At times they were sitting in the waiting room chairs. I wondered how many women had bled on the chair i was sitting on and how unsanitary it was.
My appointment was at 10am. I checked in with the front desk and they stated they would call me. At first I was called so that I could pay my remaining balance and to do a drug test. A nurse finally called me in at 2:30pm. She took my vitals, took some pictures and verified my weight. I walked out of the surgery center at 3pm.
I got my surgery time the day before. I was told I was scheduled for 5AM. The day of surgery, my friend and I arrived at 4:45AM only to find the Spectrum closed. A nurse who works there arrived soon after. We all waited outside till about 5:20AM when 2 other staff members arrived and opened the doors.
I checked in and was given a drug test and was brought in to change into my surgical gown and compression socks.
Dr. Chang came in and was super nice. He was comforting and put me at ease. He answered all my questions. Definitely nothing negative to say about my first encounter with Dr. Chang.
After surgery, I didn't feel right from the beginning. The pain was horrible. I felt faint and weak. The next day after surgery, I went in for a post-op appointment and for my first lymphatic massages. Massages were painful to say the least. I almost fainted every single time I got one. Whenever I told the massage therapists that I felt like I was going to faint, they would say I was fine and would give me a juice box.
I thought on my post-op appointment ythat I would see Dr. Chang, but I didn't. A nurse took my pictures and my blood pressure and sent me on my way.
Every single time i went back for massages, I informed the women at the front that i felt faint and heart rate was super fast. I requested to see a doctor. No one made any attempts to take my concerns seriously. I waited for hours and when i asked if a doctor could see me, i was told i was next. 5 hours i waited and never saw a doctor, never had anyone even come and take blood pressure or to check to see if I was ok.
I was now one of the many women walking around straight out of surgery bleeding and in pain. You arrived for your "SCHEDULED" appointment only to have to wait around for hours on end in pain and not feeling well. I was just one of many to those people. With all the waiting around, I became very friendly with some of the women who also had just had surgery. I wasn't the only one who had complications. I wasn't the only waiting around for hours.
I flew back to Boston after 4 days. It honestly wasn't worth it to me to stick around for massages. What i really wanted was to see Dr. Chang and I never did. On my last day there, I went for my final massage. I was feeling at my worst. In pain, faint and very weak. The girls at the front desk stated that I wasn't on the schedule to see Dr. Chang, but they would see what they could do. I waited 6 hours and nothing. My friend and I left Spectrum, checked out of our hotel and went to the airport.
Once i got home, I was feeling worse than ever. I felt very weak, faint and I could hear my pulse in my ear. I attempted to contact Spectrum on many occassions to request to talk to Dr. Chang only to be to told he was not available. I reached out to him via Instagram where he responded immediately. He advised me to drink water and floridex. It just didn't feel right that that was all I needed to do. He wanted to discuss my symptoms via Instagram, but not once did he make any attempts to call me. Not professional!
I went to see my PCP and she was concerned as soon as she saw me. I was pale white and my eyes were sunken in. I got blood work done and she told me to take iron and to relax. At 11PM that same day, I received a call from an on-call doctor who stated that I needed to go to the emergency room because my blood level was at a dangerously low level. Before surgery my blood level was at a 13.5 and after surgery my blood level was at a 6.3.
I was hospitalized for two days and had to receive two blood transfusions. All the doctors who cared for me could not believe how much blood was lost and were even more shocked that I did not see my surgeon after my surgery.
Today I am 4 weeks post op. Am i happy with my results? Not sure. I have a flat spot on my right cheek that I am very self conscious about. My lipo overall is ok. Everyone tells me, trust the process and give it time. I have no other choice but to do that.
I am giving the office a very negative review overall. Dr. Chang was overall good. His work as of now is up in the air. I will give another review in three months. Hopefully i can give a more positive review on my results.
