First Aligners
Hey guys! So yeah I went in yesterday morning to get my aligners I was super excited because I had heard it hurt a lot but my dentist said I was scaring my self this made me feel better. I went in for my appointment sat on the chair and my aligners had arrived, we got straight stuck in. So he popped them in. my top teeth the more crowded ones didn't feel much tightness where as the bottom ones did rather confusing. He then held the mirror for me to do it and it was relatively easy, leaving the room all happily no pain apart from tightness no lisp no nothing rather chuffed with my decision off to uni I went. Around lunch there was more of a ache rather than pain still tolerable I took the out ate and rinsed everything popped them in OUCH the pain it was worse than before and I had the lisp :( but it was manageable I carried on. Come home i could feel teeth moving which was painful so I took a pain killer ate and slept. I then woke with an aching mouth the pressure/ache is firmly on my top crowded teeth which is what I expected. This morning the ache/pain is there but less and you can sort of feel it moving teeth. I have to keep these in until 2 weeks before I can change them. In 4 weeks I will be back at the dentist to receive my third, fourth and fifth set all with attachments. Good luck to me I'm not a pain person hope to see results soon. I would say no one noticed my aligners until I pointed them out.

Sorry about the pain :(. Expected and normal but still a bother! For the future, you may have a better experience if you change trays right before bed. I found that it helps a lot (and many have agreed with me) to be able to have the trays in uninterrupted for a good 8 hours before trying to remove them the first time. Most of the time that's difficult when you go to the doctor and they put them in for you in the morning, but when you have the freedom to change your trays, definitely give it a try. I know one of our Invisaligners wears hers for 18 hours straight when she first switches--she just fasts for 18 hours that day. I used to fast for 8 hours after going to the ortho and having my tray switched, which is much easier than 18! :D
So did you start your treatment on the 19th, then? I can change your date for you in the review so it counts correctly :).

Can you please post pictures so we can have a better idea of your starting point? :) This is an exciting time, and I look forward to following your progress and hopefully helping you meet some others here! Funny, we just got a new Invisaligner from Leeds not to long ago. She's called gemma123. But we have a growing number of people in GB :). Thank you for joining us!
