Dr. Rahban is an artist and gem in the world of plastic surgery. Before discovering his practice, I spent years unhappy with my midsection after genetics, extreme weight gain, and extreme weight loss left me with long unsightly stretch marks, excess abdominal skin/fat, and love handles. I had never worn a bikini in public and every article of clothing I wore was to hide my midsection. I had pretty much accepted this as my reality for the longest time, as the idea of undergoing surgery to address any of these issues seemed too risky – what if I shelled out the money for a tummy tuck surgery only to likely find that I was unhappy with the result? There were just too many factors at play – What if my belly button was strange or off center? What if my contour looked boxy or unnatural? What if my scar was crooked, ugly, or too high? What if something happened to me on the operating table? What if anything at all went wrong? Any imperfection I would have to live with permanently, and this terrified me. As you might be able to tell, I’m a perfectionist – I’m overly cautious and overly particular about everything. I promised myself I would not humor the idea of surgery unless I found a doctor whose credentials, portfolio, and attention to detail were world class and impeccable. Basically, I was going to live with my horrible midsection until/unless I found the perfect doctor. So I scoured the internet for a long time and browsed hundreds of tummy tuck galleries, most of which had some good results and some bad. I immediately ruled out any galleries with bad results, even if it was one bad tummy tuck out of a hundred. Based on results alone, I eventually narrowed down to Dr. Rahban as simply the most talented tummy tuck surgeon I could find. Upon further investigation, I found that not only were his TT results flawless, but his practice aligns with my values and my specific concerns in every way – he has incredibly informative videos about his procedures and plastic surgery in general, and addresses every single nuance there is about tummy tucks along with his specific approach to ensure a perfect result. It was clear Dr. Rahban is not only experienced, but as much of a perfectionist as I am. I learned a lot about the tummy tuck procedure on my own, and went in for a consultation only to learn even more – Dr. Rahban examined my anatomy and mapped out exactly the procedure that would address my concerns and explained to me in detail how it would work with regard to my specific body and makeup. To be fully transparent I would not say that Dr. Rahban is the warmest doctor in the world. He is confident, knowledgeable, honest, but extremely straightforward which could potentially turn some patients off who need to be babied through this process or have things sugarcoated for them. Dr. Rahban was frank with me and said that I was a pretty good candidate for a TT, but I could be a better one and that he wanted to see me lose 15 pounds if I wanted my result to be a home run. I appreciated his honesty and the fact that he was candid about the factors that would maximize my result. Most importantly, I felt like I trusted him with the procedure, and trusted him to perform the TT with great care and integrity as if it were an artwork of his, or a reflection of himself. To double-triple check every detail the way I would if I could personally be awake during the surgery. Through his confidence, it was clear he took pride in his work and that I would be in great hands. I was inspired not only to go through with the surgery but to actually lose the weight. I lost exactly 15 pounds by my surgery date which shocked even myself as someone who has always struggled with weight loss. Something about Dr. Rahban’s confidence and reassurance, and the notion of having a “home run” body by the end of it, made everything tangible. Dr. Rahban’s team was more than lovely throughout the entire process. After my consultation I was provided a quote for the tummy tuck + lipo of flanks procedures, which was double what I believe the market average is for the same procedures anywhere else. Naturally I wanted to consider other more affordable options, but I simply was not willing to compromise any facet of the surgery. I did everything to try and talk myself out of going this expensive route, but at the end of the day I just knew it was the right decision. While many doctors only spend a couple hours with their TT patients, Dr. Rahban spends up to four. He does all his closures himself and uses a sophisticated and time consuming approach which produces beautiful and thin scars. He has mastered the art of resetting the belly button to it’s perfect ovular and natural shape. He performs lipo in such a way that retains the hourglass shape. His CV and years of experience are unparalleled. His before and after gallery speaks for itself. I could not be happier with my decision to trust and go with him. Surgery went incredibly smoothly despite all my worries and fears, having never gone under the knife before. The surgery was performed at a high end facility and I woke up in absolutely no pain, which I imagine was due in part to painkillers and in part to the surgical technique. I immediately saw a world of difference despite post-surgery swelling. Swelling has been steadily subsiding each week, and I am now 8 weeks post-op and feel like a brand new person. Dr. Rahban says there is still a bit of swelling left to subside over the next few months, however even at this early stage, I am already so incredibly happy with the way my abdomen looks. I have never felt this way in my life. I couldn’t find a flaw in the result if I tried, and that’s saying a lot coming from a perfectionist who finds asymmetries and flaws in everything. My belly button is beautiful and natural. My scar is thin, low, and perfectly symmetrical. My contour is perfectly proportioned and feminine. My stomach is flat, even athletic looking. The post-op care has been attentive and wonderful, and it’s somehow been a breeze keeping the weight off since. I’ve already received countless compliments on my body and it’s not even in its final state. The whole thing has been quite life changing to say the least.
