Growing up, I was always a fat kid. It wasn't until my junior year in high school that I decided to lose weight. I began to eat healthier and exercise more. The weight started coming off, but then I noticed I was left with loose sagging skin on my stomach, butt and thighs. No matter how much I exercised, I just couldn't get my skin to tighten up.

Although I had lost the weight, I still felt insecure about my body due to the loose skin. I dreaded summer when everyone would throw pool parties. I would always make up some excuse to not attend. Getting these procedures done had always crossed my mind. However, it wasn't until now that I decided to do something about it.

I was nervous about getting all three procedures done, but Dr. Brent and his team definitely put me at ease. They had me take a health test to make sure I was healthy and able to undergo surgery, which I thought was great. The procedures took about 3 hours to finish. After surgery, I was taken to a recovery center, where I stayed for one night. Dr. Brent advises all his patients to stay one night, where you have nurses to care for you, since the the few hours after surgery are very important.

To be completely honest, the next few hours/days were a complete blur. I was on pain meds which made me drowsy and nauseous. I didn't have any appetite and even though I was on pain meds, I was in so much pain! It was so painful for me to get in and out of bed, it hurt to urinate, it hurt to sit down due to my butt lift, and I was constipated, which made me feel even worse! It wasn't until the 4th day after surgery that I started to somewhat feel normal. All I could think about was wanting to reach my 6-week mark as that is usually when most patients say they feel great and are able to exercise.

Well, as I'm writing this, I've hit my 6-week mark and I do feel better. I started exercising again, but I'm taking it easy, doing some light cardio and light weight training. The swelling is starting to come down and I'm starting to see my body take its shape.

So far the results look great. It's a lot better than where I was before the surgery, and I'm sure it will get better as time passes and I continue to exercise and eat healthy. All I can say is, if you're thinking about getting these procedures done, just know that it is painful, but you have to patient and allow your body to heal. Take at least 3-weeks off work and have someone by your side who can help you move around. Don't over exert yourself and don't try to be a hero. Ask for help as your body is recovering and needs all the rest it can get.
