Hi all! So it's been an entire year since I last went in for my lip fillers. The first two sessions were spaced apart 6 months in order to achieve the look I wanted. Today I went in to touch everything up and also add some more fullness to the top. I saved some pictures about two months after my injections settled last just to show Dr. Firouz my proportions- I have really been wanting much less on the bottom and more on the top. He placed around 30% on the top and a very small amount into the bottom just to even out where I had lost volume on one side. I am so happy with my results- I am a bit swollen now but I definitely expected that. I'm uploading one picture of how my fillers looked before going in today- one year with no touch-ups. I definitely still had some volume, just a bit of unevenness because of course the filler will go away quicker in some areas than others. The after picture is from this evening (a few hours after). I'm excited to see my final results, although I have to admit that I'm enjoying the swelling just a bit ???? Let me know if I can be of any help to anyone! Hopefully these over time updates are some help to someone out there.

Thank you!!! Honestly it doesn't hurt at all- my doctor numbs the area beforehand with a topical cream. The after is a little uncomfortable just because of bruising and swelling, but I've also seen people who barely get any! Good luck on your appt- let me know how it goes :)

Your lips are exactly what I want to achieve. So you had a full syringe, then 6 months later another full syringe? Did any of it bead up? I've had lip injections twice before (2 years apart) and both times it beaded up and never gave the full soft volume look that you have. No one could see the beads, but I could feel them and would pinch or bite them to try to spread it out. My results were good, but not great and only lasted 2 months. My doctor used Restylane, so that was probably the issue. I also read online that drinking caffeine daily can cause your body to metabolize it quicker. I drink coffee daily. I have an appointment next week to get juvederm, so hoping for great results that last and can be maintained every 6 months.

Hi! So I went in around August last year and had almost a full syringe- I think around 0.8 ml. After that I went in right before the new year (so about 6 months later) and had a full syringe. Now a year later, I got around half a syringe just to even out the bottom where some product had dissolved on one side and add more volume to the top (my top lip has always been much smaller in size than my bottom). I never really experienced any beading, although last time I did feel like I had a small bump on my lower lip, but it went away over time.
Ugh that sucks about caffeine because I too drink 1-2 cups of coffee or tea every day. I have read that Juvederm (I think I was injected with Juvederm Ultra, not sure if that makes a difference) does last longer than Restylane in the lips- but definitely something to discuss with your doctor. I also feel like even though my lips went down after a year, because I went in for that touch up, I definitely did think that my lips still looked plump after all that time. I think the trick is to go in when you notice some loss of volume and to make sure you communicate with your doctor exactly what look you want. This time, I made sure to bring in pictures of me over the past year when I liked my size or felt like the size was too much for me so that he could see exactly what I wanted/did not want as well as what my overall expectations were. I definitely think this result has been my favorite so far because I did show my own pictures vs. other people's results. Excited for your results and wishing you good luck on your appointment :)
