26 Years Old, 40G, No Children - Berkeley Heights, NJ

I am a 26 year old nurse with size 40G breast. I come from a family of full bust women, so I pretty much knew what to expect as far as my development was concerned. I graduated high school weighing 140 pounds and being a 36D. I starting taking birth control at age 20 and I started to notice my breasts were increasing in size. I gave a little thought to a breast reduction but decided to wait because I haven't had children yet and I wanted to breast feed. As I got a little older I gained weight from not being active like I was in high school and college and my breast got even larger. It became something that I was very self conscious about. I looked in pictures and my breasts were the first thing I noticed. I would have to get clothes in bigger sizes to fit around my breasts making them very large in other areas. I knew I would get some relief by losing weight but the high impact cardio I needed to do couldn't be accomplished. I would have to wear three bras and it affect my breathing. So my last straw was one morning when I was getting dressed for work and leaned down to tie my sneakers I couldn't reach the laces because my breasts were in the way. I got to work that morning and called the plastic surgery dept at my job (I work for a multi specialty physician practice) and made an appt for a consultation. I talked with my mom about it and she said she supported my decision. I talked with my fiancé about and he said he was surprised I didn't get it done sooner as much as I complain about breasts.( love that guy!) I met with Peter Hyans to the discuss the procedure. Naturally, I had much anxiety because this is a big decision that affects your body image permanently and you have to be willing to sacrifice breast feeding and nipple sensation since there is a chance those will go away after the procedure. He was warm and energetic and the anxiety melted away. I spoke with him and his PA for an hour and he didn't rush with answering any of my questions at all. His nurse took my photographs and gave me the run down on how they would go about trying to have the insurance company cover the procedure. My tentative surgery date is January 19th and I'm waiting to hear back from the insurance company. I'll write back after my procedure wish me luck! I hope this helps someone who is considering the procedure because I couldn't be more ready!

I just received notification that my insurance will be convering my surgery ! I am scheduled for January 19th and will be going for my pre op appt the day before to get marked and a run down of the procedure stay tuned for pictures!

Hello again. Its the night before my surgery and I just got back from my pre op appt. Dr. Hyans and his nurse Maria did my markings to prepare for surgery tomorrow and gave me instructions. I will be taking medication to help with nausea tonight as I will be receiving general anesthesia. I feel a little nervous and extremely excited. The doctor gave me the okay to take a Xanax tonight before I go to bed so I can actually sleep. I'll update in a few days after my procedure. Wish me luck everyone !
