My lips were always such an insecurity of mine....
my lips were always such an insecurity of mine. even smiling/talking i felt like my face was weird compared to everyone else's because i had basically lines for lips.
my first experience with Juvaderm Volbella was in march on 2015, which added a little volume and i felt could feel my confidence rising. what i didn't realise is how uneven my top lip was ! so i was quick to blame the injector but honestly looking through older photos it was definitely just my lip shape.
i did feel alot of lower lip twitching and i found the product absorbed faster than i expected, or maybe a little did and i just wasnt aware HOW small my lips were to begin with because i became so used to my new ones.
I scheduled another appointment 3 months later in June, i had the same injector. He never really asked questions he more-so just went in and did what he thought looked best , injected most the vile in my upper lip and honestly i felt like a duck for weeks afterwards. the porportions i found were off.. i always made it clear i like a thicker bottom lip. i was happy just to see a change in my face , but i felt like my upper lip was off. another 3 months goes by and i'm even more unsatisfied when i see my bottom lip is smaller than my upper lip, my upper lip took the juvaderm well and only on one side did i see a little deflation.
I wanted to try a new doctor, Dr. Lotay from beautiful U. She asked me questions, seemed genuinely interested and concerned. even asked me to show her a picture of how i wanted my lips to look. I felt like her bed side manner was WAY more personal and way more professional. Her way of injecting is different from what i was used to before, instead of injecting around the lips she actually added volume inside and even fixed my duck-like sideprofile. I am so happy with my bottom lip and it's actually evened out now, my lips were honestly starting to look like a train wreck. I'm so happy :)
