Back to Work

Hey RS
I started back to work on January 13th. Mind you, I just had my drains removed on January 8th! I travel alot for my job and I didn't realize I had 2 trips scheduled the week I got back. Well the trip to Princeton didn't happen but I did do the one in Philly. I thought, it should be ok, just a train ride and then pick up the rental car. Well...needless to say, I was so short of breath from all the walking, I had to lift my computer wheely bag in and out of the car (way more than 5 lbs which was my limit per PS). By the time I got home the next day, I was DONE. My body wasn't ready yet. I'm not even consistently walking upright yet. I talked to my PS and he gave me a note for an additional 3 weeks no business travel and then re-evaluate after that to see where I am. The job was ok with that, but it put me in a bit of a funk because I'm ready to get back to "my normal". My mind and my body are at odds with each other and I just need to take it easy. So, the bright side of this is that I am able to work from the comfort of my home in an administrative capacity. With all the snow and ice we are having here, I ain't complaining!! I am still experiencing alot of soreness in my groin area (right in the crease) from where the drains came out. I put AB ointment on it and seems to help alot. I have started incision care with biocorneum and I really like it alot. I am still very swollen and numb where lipo was done and I'm dealing with it. There was a point where I was sick of the CG and couldn't wait to get rid of it. Well so I thought...I still wear it during the day and I sleep in it at night. It's comforting and supportive at the same time. Also relieves the heaviness and soreness of the swelling and lipo. I don't have the "electrical zingers" shooting through my body anymore and I'm a little concerned about that because I was told that that feeling is the nerves trying to reconnect themselves. I have alot of numbness and swelling and I'm hoping that the feeling comes back soon. Feels really weird especially when I get an itch there. I scratch it but I can't feel it! LOL!! If anyone has a suggestion for a "spanx like" all in one that covers your thighs and waist up to your boobs that's firm but COMFORTABLE and easy to get off and on that won't cut off your circulation while you are pulling it up, please let me know. I hate spanx and have wasted tons of money on them. Well, that's it for now. Hope everyone is healing nicely and you are in good spirits. The recovery process is long and I'm finding that patience and acceptance is key. Love you! ROR

36 Days Post TT

Here is a picture of me and my new tummy/waistline in clothes taken yesterday. I like it!! LOL

I FINALLY TOOK A SHOWER AFTER 35 DAYS!!!!!!!

Hi RS!
OMGEE Can I just tell you how amazing I feel after taking my first shower since December 5th 2014, and my first off the New Year LOL!! I feel so clean!! My daughter said I looked a shade lighter...WHATEVER!! My skin especially my inner thighs were extremely dry and flakey..really odd. Alot of the "gunk" fell off my incision and it's really flat. I used the scar away silicone strips to put over the incision. I also transitioned into my spanx which was a little snugger than normal due to the swelling. I posted one picture. Not very good, but it will give you an idea of what I look like. Will get my daughter to take more later.

Dr. Larry Lickstein is a seasoned veteran in plastic surgery. He’s competent, knowledgeable, sets realistic expectations up front as it relates to what he can do for you and genuinely cares about his patients. During my first consult with Dr. Lickstein, he addressed all of my questions and concerns, explained the entire procedure and not once did I feel rushed. I was extremely self conscious of my stomach and he made me feel comfortable, taking great care to preserve my dignity during the examination. There was no pressure to make a decision and he encouraged me to take my time and give it some thought. When he left the room I had a peace and knew he was the one who would do my tummy tuck. Because of my medical history, additional labs were required and Dr. Lickstein immediately reached out to my PCP and engaged her in collaboration of my care during the entire process. I was impressed by that. Because it added an additional layer of medical supervision. Dr. Lickstein is what I call “A Quiet Storm”. He has a quiet, humble confidence in his ability that he demonstrates in surgery. He’s meticulous, performs amazing work and I am so blessed to be the recipient of his gift. I highly recommend Dr. Lickstein and Belecara.
