47 Y O , Deviated Septum, Crooked Nose, Blocked Nasal Passages - Baltimore, MD

Dr. Papel is one of the best doctors for any surgery I've ever experienced! His staff was VERY pleasant and kept me pretty calm the entire time. Jokes were pretty rampant before and after surgery and every time I've been there. Dr. Papel's bedside manner is one of the best I've been around, and it was TOTALLY my pleasure to have had him and his staff work to fix my severely damaged nose! My nose looked as if I had fought, and lost, a boxing match, and I don't know when it developed, I just kept going until I noticed it was seeming to go sideways a few months ago. That's when I went to my ENT doc, who said HE couldn't do the surgery, and referred me to Dr.Papel's office. ALthough it was a good drive for us, we're in Olney, they are in Baltimore, it was sooo worth the trip. As of now, post op about a month, I feel pretty good with minute soreness only at the tip of my nose, and I can BREATHE!!!!! I guess I didn't realize how breathing out of two nostrils would feel that great! I just dealt with it, actually didn't realize how messed up my nose was. No wonder I was always fatigued! I was barely breathing through my one side! It's definitely a great experience to be around some great people who actually care about your feelings and how you would like to be ... Dr. Papel has changed my life for the better and I can't thank him ENOUGH as well as his wonderful staff that day!!! btw, in your nose, the cartilage is supposed to be a line down the nose, separating the two nostrils..... MY case was this. MY cartilage was in an S shape.... weird right? Now, I breathe great, feel great and feel I look a lot better than before.... my spirit is different and my energy is better. You never know what you'll feel until you go through what I went through, but believe me, it was a great thing. You will be sore about two to three weeks there, and Dr. Papel said it may take a year to fully heal which is pretty normal. Only downside is time to heal....but, as a 47 y.o., I expected longer! :) Not a spring chicken anymore, so up to a year is just fine for me. Go to Dr.Papel. Meet him. Meet his staff. Tell him what's going on. You'll be glad you did! I will refer this doc to anyone and EVERYONE having nasal issues now and forevermore. They changed my life for the better and i can't be thankful enough. Best wishes to anyone reading this!
