Cellulite Gone! - Austin, TX

After seeing some unfavorable reviews of Cellfina,...

WORTH IT
After seeing some unfavorable reviews of Cellfina, I felt compelled to share my experience. Despite exercising every day and eating a healthy diet, I’ve had cellulite on my thighs and butt for as long as I could remember. I jumped at the opportunity for a “permanent cellulite solution”. I had the procedure done in the spring and am ecstatic about my results. The procedure itself was not too bad. A few times during numbing, it felt like a quick bee-sting, but that that subsided quickly. The outer thigh area seemed to be the worst. The second portion of the procedure is the actual cellulite releases. I felt nothing for this part (but be aware that the little machine they use for this is REALLY loud). After the procedure, they padded and wrapped me up and got me in compression garments.

I had some soreness afterward, but no real pain. The only annoying part was that I leaked fluid from the sites for 24 hours afterward. I did have a lot of bruising, but I expected that since I tend to bruise easily. It took a good 6 weeks for all of the bruising to go away. I can still see a few residual faint dots on my butt. Dr. Whitfield figured out that since I had been diligent with sun protection on my thighs, those went away quickly, but I am unknowingly getting some sun exposure on my butt through my swimsuit. So… lesson learned. I’ll start to SPF under my suit, too.

I’m extremely happy with my results! The cellulite, especially on my butt is pretty much GONE! But don’t take my word for it… My before and after pictures from the office speak for themselves.

I am so glad you posted this, I guess we all have to be more patient about any and all procedures we have done, they are not miracle workers and I do know Dr Whitfield wants only the best for his patients.

No doctor is a miracle worker and I don't think any realistic patient thinks that is the case. I think patients go into any procedure trusting the doctor's professionalism and experience. I also think they don't expect to come out looking worse than they did prior to going in for the procedure. My doctor told me HE DID NOT KNOW THAT I WOULD SCAR. I had horrific scarring that I know will eventually fade. Had I been made aware of that beforehand, I would not have had the procedure, much less in April! I hope my doctor now realizes that people do scar from this procedure. I also hopes he informs any future patients that this is a very probable side effect. Hopefully for most patients, the scarring doesn't surpass the expected potential results of this procedure. Otherwise, what is the point? My skin is drastically looser and combined w the dark scarring, it looks awful! I have had absolutely NO sun exposure all summer! YIKES. I've been in pants everyday in 90+ degree weather!

Obviously, any procedure will come with risks! I have seen this doctors consent form, and by signing it, you accept the risks of scars and not liking your outcome! Plastic surgery is a tradeoff....you are trading what you don't like, for a scar. You admitted that you know it will fade, so why the harsh criticism?

Unfortunately I still have what I don't like. My review was not an attack on the Doctor. It was simply a truthful account of my experience.

Wow, amazing results, thank you for sharing your story and your pics here on RealSelf!

So sun can contribute to dents on our butts and thighs?

July 19, 2016
No. The sun can make any scarring worse and prolong fading.
