I went to Dr. Whitfield to see about having my implants removed & have the DIEP flap reconstruction instead. Pros - this would be my own tissue & less likely to cause issues later, skilled surgeon who does lots of these surgeries & has high success rate. Cons - 4-6 wk recovery, 3-5 dy hosp. stay

I went to Dr. Whitfield to get implants that were causing issues, removed, & have the DIEP flap reconstruction. I have been so impressed with him and his staff. While it's been a BIG surgery and recovery, I'm so happy with the results....he's a very skilled surgeon. I highly recommend him!
