Provider Review
Take note that many positive reviews don't always assure you a good outcome. I had 2 consultations with Dr. Neufeld to make we were both on the same page about surgical expectations. The one improvement I was seeking was the sagging below my eyes. His words were, I can make a 70% improvement. I ended up having upper and lower blepharoplasty, since I was told by Dr. Neufeld, he would have more access to the lower lid if he could make an incision on the upper lid. I wanted the best result so I agreed. It's been been 5 months since my surgery. I wanted to give recovery enough time to write a fair and honest review and only state the honest facts. My outcome; the upper blepharoplasty turned out ok, I see an improvement there. I'm not at all happy with the lower blepharoplasty. The sagging now looks like swelling under each eye. When I smile, there are creases under each eye. And the sparkle I once had in my eyes is gone. The shape is also somewhat different. I returned to Dr. Nuefeld 4 times post surgery. I was told the first 3 times, to give it more time to heal. The last time I saw him, he broke my heart by saying, I did all I could, some people will just have a look of swelling under their eyes. Now for the real heartbreak, the complications from of my surgery. For weeks post surgery, I couldn't close my right eye at night. Because of this I developed extreme dry eye. I was referred to another Dr. In the practice and was finally put on a prescription like Restatis. Five months post surgery, I'm not certain my right eye stays closed through the night. I wake up at least 4 times to apply ointment or drops to protect my cornea. I also had a plug put in my tear duct to try and help. My left eye is also dry, but not as bad. During most of the day, my eyes burn, ache and are feel dry. I never had a problem with dry eyes before the surgery. I'm not only extremely disappointed but this has effected my life greatly.
