When I heard on a webinar that droopy eyelids were caused by a lax eyelid muscle, I went to an ocuplastic surgeon. His office was able to demonstrate that my vision was compromised by the Ptosis, so insurance paid for the Ptosis correction and I paid for the upper blepharoplasty. The surgery was easy and I remembered nothing. The doctor and everyone there was pleasant. The recovery went like I expected - frozen peas are your friend. I was able to be on video calls behind glasses within 4 days of surgery. The surgery has opened my eyes up tremendously and I can even see better peripherally. My eyes took a different route to heal, however. The doctor put me on steroids, injected steroids into the incisions, and put me at my suggestion on antibiotic. But the lids remained red and swollen and to a much lesser extent remain so. The last visit I had with the doctor, he said some people heal differently and to come back if it didn't get better in a month. I didn't go back. I went to a dermatologist who said I had dermatitis and gave a non-steroidal topical ointment as well as prescription emollient creams, which finally gave some relief. Six months later I am pleased with the results, though my eyes are less open than they seemed right after surgery. I expect the skin will get back to normal at some point but it is better than it was, and my eyes have a much more open appearance, so most of what I was seeking was achieved. I really feel that an oculoplastic surgeon can offer more for eyes, so I am happy that I went that route. Updated on 27 Apr 2021:

I’ve been unhappy with the hollows under my eyes as well as my downturned mouth. Yesterday I had 1 syringe of Restylane injected under my eyes and another syringe of Juvederm in my nasolabial folds and marionette lines. So far I’m thrilled! I can tell a huge difference under my eyes, even though they are a little bruised and swollen, and I’m very happy with the softened look of my nasolabial folds and downturned mouth. In a week I will assess the results and decide if I want any more added after swelling goes down. I also had Botox under my mouth and will see if that further relaxes the downturned lips. I’ll update in a week when everything should have settled and kicked in. Updated on 20 Mar 2019: A month later I went for a small amount of additional filler under one eye and for filler on each side of my chin to minimize the prominence of my jowls. I’m very happy with the results!

Dr. Neufeld is very professional and knowledgeable. He explained the procedure in layman's terms and set proper expectations. The procedure went as planned and the outcome was excellent. His staff is professional and courteous.

I don't know if Dr. Neufeld is a surgical artist or artistic surgeon, but he's close to a modern medical miracle worker. I went in with droopy eyelids and baggage under my eyes and what he accomplished is astonishing, all with a laser. I don't know if the man even owns a scalpel, except maybe to use as a letter opener. My understanding is this young man came through his medical training after the laser procedure was perfected so that was how he learned to do it. And what he does with the lower lids is perhaps the most amazing. I thought maybe he could trim the upper eyelids to improve my peripheral vision but never would have believed he could remove the bags under my eyes and leave the skin literally as smooth as it was 40 years ago. I went home the same day, wore sunglasses for a week and neither the love of my life nor I can believe the difference in my appearance. Put your trust in Dr. Kenneth Neufeld. You'll be rewarded for it.

Medically needed because of peripheral vision impairment. Glad to have had this surgery. I can see so much better and I am excited to see my eyelashes again!!!! As a woman it is nice to be able to use a little eye makeup again. This surgery made me feel younger because I looked better, felt better about myself, and I could see so much more!!! I had total confidence in Dr. Neufeld, he strive for perfection! Outcome is fantastic! So happy that I had this surgery and the best surgeon.

My eyelids were drooping so much that I was prone to eye infections. My lids actually folded up around each other at times. What a complete change in my looks after having this done along with the resurfacing of my skin under the lids. I receive constant compliments on the change, and I am told I look so much younger.

I was very pleased with my entire experience at Dr. Neufeld's office. The entire staff from the receptionist, nurses, and scheduler treated me with the upmost attention. I was born with Congenital Ptosis- mother had a difficult delivery with me- Breach and high forcepts caused nerve damage to right eye. Tendon was stretched in eyelid and had only 50% lid function. Periferal vision blocked and left eye straining to work for both eyes. Driving became difficult and had to compensate on daily activities. With father being a doctor from NY and we had a few visits to plastic surgeons over the years dating back to 1978, but were concerned of the long tern affects of the lid function. We were told the lid may not close, the eye will dry out, etc so I never had surgery. As an adult, I researched again for any new modern techniques. I found Dr. Neufeld, also being from Long Island, NY and when reveiwing his strong credentials- I immediately set up an appointment to see if he could help me. He did a few tests, and went over the best type of surgery for me- Mullerectomy of the eyelid. I did all my research on the procedure and was ready for what I have been waiting for my whole life. He is an amazing doctor- the whole process was perfect- from his staff continually following up on all my calls, concerns, to the post op recovery plan. Very happy with the results- I have full vision of my right eye and I look amazing. No more squinting in the sun and in pictures! I would highly recommend Dr. Neufeld and his staff for any type of Eye procedure.. I had my 2 month post op follow up and everything is perfect- no second surgery needed!!

Updated on 14 Jan 2015: Dr. Neufeld did a great job on upper and lower eyelid surgery and laser resurfacing. He listens and is careful and skillful. My peripheral vision is greatly improved, and the cosmetic effect is positive as well. The office is clean and the wait time is short. Also the ease of getting appointments is a great plus. I would highly recommend him for surgery involving the eyes.
