Juvederm Lip Fillers and Tear Trough Fillers - Atlanta, GA

ORIGINAL POST

I decided to get filler on my top for the first...

Koverdose
WORTH IT$450
I decided to get filler on my top for the first time -- the vermillion border only. None was injected in my top lip. My bottom lip is naturally full already, so I didn't have anything injected there. I believe my doctor used .8 CCs of Juvederm Ultra. I only had a little bit left in the syringe, which I am able to come back for a touch up. This was my first experience ever having injections. They added numbing cream to my top lip for 10 minutes. I then had 4 injection points on the top lip border. On a pain scale, I would say it is a 4 or 4.5/10. It does not hurt when the needle goes in, only when the product goes in. It feels a little bit like a burning sensation. The top injection sites were more uncomfortable than the side/corner of my top lip, but nothing unbearable. My MD was very good because she massaged the product in, and added pressure after the injections. I did not bruise at all. I was able to go directly back to work in hour later, and no body noticed.

Did u out ever get tear troughs fillers? I don't see any pictures . Thanks

Yes, I have had tear trough fillers done 3x before, which have made huge improvement in not looking tired. I am 26 years old, but I have under eye hollows. I didn't post any pictures on here of my under eyes b/c I didn't really want to be so easily identified on here. Bruising and swelling are usually at its worst on day 3. My bruising was easily covered with makeup, but the swelling was harder to hide. My naturally have puffy eyes, but once the swelling subsides, my under eyes look well rested. It is one of the best investments I have ever done, but you have to go to a skilled injector. Avoid blood thinners or taking anything like Advil at least 1.5 before getting treatment. I didn't and bruised moderately under one eye.

Thank you. So do you recomend taking only arnica and vitamin C (500mg) a week before injection? Or is there anything else to take? Also, did your doctor inject u with a cannula? Is meant to not bruise at all--just a little swelling . Thanks

Day 3 Results

Everything looks pretty good still. I think most of the swelling has gone down, if I even swelled at all. The top border is still pronounced, which is what I want, and why I initially wanted the injections. The top left corner, where I was injected has a slight pin sized bump. You can hardly see it. I don't think it's a cold sore, probably just a healing injection site. It doesn't hurt at all. The only side effect I got after injection was slightly chapped lips on day 2 and day 3.

Ohhh let us know what happens with that bump- I hope it isn't a cold sore!  I know that people who get cold sores often get one after lip injections, but like you said it might just be the product settling.  You have gorgeous full lips to begin with- I can't wait to see how they look over the next few days :)

Thanks Jill! My doctor said some people can get them afterwards. I don't have a history of cold sores, but she sent a RX for it, so I can fill just in case I do get one. Will post new pictures if there are any significant changes soon. :)

They feel tingly when they first start to develop and then you start to get a wet/oozy eruption.  So hopefully you aren't feeling the tingles!

I love your lips and you only had the border done, why not in the lip? Is there a difference in the way it looks?

Thank you, Bella Besos. I actually did want filler in the actual lip. My first time, my injector put a little in the border... Like only .3 CCs. I came back a week later, and she injected the rest in the border. Now that it's day 5, I still think I want some in the actual lip. I think she was just being conservative and thought I didn't need any. I am going to book another appointment before Dec, when the syringe expires to have the rest out in the lip

Thank you for sharing. I want to do mine in October or Dec but i DO NOT want the duck bill look. I may use 1 syringe but put some n my nasolabial folds and then in lips. I want to be conservative for the first time. Does it last 6 months?

I got mine re-done today. You get the ducky look when the vermillion border gets filled too much, I believe. I also notice it when not enough is filled in the top lip, and all of it goes in the border. The older lady receptionist at the clinic I want to was mad ducky. lol Most injectors will be conservative in the lips; they probably would only use half a syringe, depending on what's going on. I had to go back three times to convince my injector to add more, to achieve the look I wanted. I asked the doctor today how long it lasts-- he said 6 months, but it depends on how fast your body metabolize, life style, stress, etc. Some people say 6 months, some are +/- 1-2 month. I have a high metabolism already, and I work in a high stress environment, with long hours, so mine probably won't last as long as others.

Mad ducky, lol! How are you feeling after your redo? If it looks good i want to last forever,NOT gonna happen,if it looks fake,i want it gone asap.

They feel a little tender since my re-do today, but I'm not in any pain. My right top lip is a little swollen, so I'll probably ice it before I go to bed. The great thing about filler is they can inject an enzyme called hylauronidase, and it will dissolve the filler right away. The bad thing though, according to my MD who injected me, is that you can't have the enzyme dissolve certain parts that are more uneven or appear more swollen that others. So, you have to make sure you totally hate it, otherwise, it's a waste of money. I can see why most injectors are conservative and encourage coming back for re-fills than injecting too much. Also, don't worry about being ducky-- that only happens if your top lip is significantly bigger than your bottom. Naturally, no one looks like that... unless someone has a significant Homer Simpson-like over bite or something. lol

So, I went back for more on Day 5. lol. Different clinic. Full Dental Block.

Koverdose
So, I ended up going to a weekend Walk-In Botox and Fillers place. I ended up paying $400 altogether for a little bit of Belotero in my right tear trough hollows and half a syringe of Juvederm Ultra in the actual lip towards the sides, as well as bottom sides. I had an older male doctor this time, and I think I might actually go back in the future. I liked what he did with my lips, and he was very personable and funny. Since this clinic does use topical numbing agent, the doctor gave me a full dental block in the inside of my mouth. I think it was a total of 6 shots, which feel like the kind they give you when you get cavities filled. It completed numbed my lip, teeth, and entire mouth. I did not feel a thing. I probably will try the injections without it next time because I don't like the constant drooling feeling. I also can't close my lip all the way since I'm so numb; hence, my mouth is open in that picture. [I'm not perusing at all; I simply cannot close my mouth.] lol

The doctor did say my lips may look uneven right now, due to the numbing. He recommended not drinking out of straws for next few days and to not be afraid to massage the product. I hope this numbing wears off soon because I can't really annunciate words right now. I'm nervous about bruising, but I don't think I will since I didn't bruise on Monday when I had some injected on the borders, and filler under my left eye.
