Hi, I am a physician that works at Emory Hospital....
Hi, I am a physician that works at Emory Hospital. I have been losing hair for roughly 10 years or so. I have been searching for hair restoration surgeons for several years. I searched reviews for many surgeons, and Dr.Anderson was the only one I found that had great reviews. I could not find one negative review on him or his staff. I decided to go for a consultation, and he and his staff were very friendly. Dr.Anderson explained the procedure in detail. The cost of the procedure was very reasonable and lower than some of the other hair restoration surgeons i was looking at. I decided to schedule my procedure in November when I had some free time.
The procedure itself takes two days, and for me, it went very smooth. The first day you come in early in the afternoon and your hair is shaved off. Dr.Anderson numbs your head which he does with great skill and is painless and than he makes sites for the graft area. I was given prescription for Vicodin, but I did not need it and really did not feel any pain at home. On the next day, your head again is numbed with anesthetics and than the donor hair grafts are removed by the ARTAS Robotic method. I was given light sedative by mouth to help me relax. This took the whole morning and again was painless. After this part of the procedure is over, you are give lunch which you specify what you want in the morning. In the afternoon, the hair technicians place the grafts into the recipient sites that were made the day before. This takes up majority of the afternoon and is the easiest part of the procedure. Because of of the light sedation that is given, it is recommended to have someone drive you home.
The post procedure period is very smooth. I had a prescription for Vicodin for pain but I did not need it. After one week, the hair around my donor site grew so there was not visible evidence that I had hair grafts removed and the scabbing in the recipient site was dislodged with conditioner and baby oil so the grafted area also looked natural.
Overall I was very happy with my procedure and recommend Dr.Anderson to anyone seeking a hair restoration procedure. If anyone is on the fence about the procedure, it is very smooth, painless, and your hair will look natural by one week.

Board Certified Hair Restoration Surgeon

Dr.Anderson is a very skilled and outstanding surgeon. He has practiced plastic surgery in California and also practiced and taught at Emory. He is as knowledgeable and reputed in the field as anyone in the country. Despite his great background, he is very friendly and accessible.
