Starting my journey (during COVID no less)
planned "round one" surgeries- Arm lift with lipo to arms for contouring, full lift- anchor- with cohesive gel implants.
surgery date-TBD Oct 2020?
ME-
45 y/o mother of 1 young adult in college. I am an RN in Scottsdale AZ.
5' 2.5" 158#.
graduated HS at 80# with "full" C cup size.
got married at 21 weighing 200#. had a baby at 23 y/o without gaining much at all.
2-3 years later lost 100+#.
had a tummy tuck with significant muscle repair, had my "outtie" changed to an "innie" in Minneapolis
kept that weight off over 10 years. Had a breast reduction with lift from E to D (wanted PS to bring me to a B with the plan to get implants at some point but he said it was not "safe") in Minneapolis (same great surgeon)
eventually gained and gained topping out at 260#.
had WLS (GS) 1.5 years ago.
lost the weight and skin genetic lottery. Batwings run in my family and at 5' 2.4" 250# I was the tallest and thinnest woman in my family (mother, sisters, grandparents aunts etc.)
with the weight gains and weight losses the skin is a bigger nightmare.
I moved to AZ 2 years ago with my son away at college.
after MUCH research I decided to go to Mexico for PS.
needed to renew my passport and because of COVID just received it today 5 months later.
I had a few virtual consults with various surgeons and in the end have 90% decided on Baja Medical group. I say 90% because I am still a bit hesitant as the communication with their office is not the best.
it may be because so much is lost in translation with e-mail etc.
i had a phone conversation with the Medical Director Dr. Serrano and I really liked him but I feel like he either didn't fully grasp what I was looking for, or didn't communicate it to the "quote team"
as my initial quote did not include everything we discussed.
it was also not clear at first that he was NOT the surgeon but rather the Medical Director. I had to ask via e-mail AFTER the quotes who the PS was. I have yet to speak with Dr. C (but I also have not made my PS appointment because I did not have my passport and didn't know when it would process with COVID )
after a few emails back and forth I have what I feel is the quote that I wanted with the procedures that I wanted (within the safety guidelines that Dr. Serrano set- they will not go over 6 hours for a surgery)
so now I am just waiting for the office to LMK what dates they have available and then I will see if they offer for me to 'speak' with the actual surgeon. If they do not offer I am not sure I will stick with this group. if they don't offer I will ask and if I receive any resistance I will NOT stick with this group. I do have a few other e-mails out for consults.
I am hoping for a late Oct early Nov 2020 surgery date. My only hiccup is my mom. (LSS she is 65 living with me with end stage lung, liver brain cancer on hospice so I never know what the next days, weeks months are going to look like with her. I would hire 24/7 care for her for the 3 days I would be in Mexico)
I will post my before pictures and my big list of questions for this wonderful community!
(I used RS before/after my breast reduction surgery too and y'all were a Godsend!)

Surgery scheduled!
Hello Lovlies!
Booked my surgery with Dr. C and paid my deposit. Big day is Nov 4th. Flying in on the morning of Nov 3rd for pre-op stuff, spending that night at the Marriott. Surgery on the 4th and that night in the hospital and then the 5th, 6th and 7th at the recovery house and fly home out of SAN on the 8th.
I tentatively have 11/9 off of work I will see how tired I am on the 8th and decide then if ill go to work.
I am taking the week off from my 2nd job for sure tho so I can get some rest throughout that first week.
The surgeons office said they will fit and provide me with any/all compression devices that are needed.
so i think the only thing i will have to bring is button up jammies.
my only concern is how to fly home without lifting.... i have a small roller bag and hope that pulling it will be ok and plan on asking the flight attendants to lift it up/down into the bin for me.
What has everyone else done?
Any other thoughts or suggestions?

So excited for you...my arms look similar and my consultation is Oct 13th....hoping for an early January surgury date so I'll be following closely...I'm hoping for and extended arm lift....another round of high volume lipo and some skin removal from my neck....weight loss is a blessing and a curse

It was fantastic!!! I paid my deposit and I'm scheduled for January 6th!!! I will be having exactly what I wanted....extended arm lift....high volume lipo to the flanks and upper abdomen then he's gonna suck the fat from my neck to tighten it up....my first round of lipo he was able to remove 17 pounds of fat and said this time it wouldn't be that much cause there simply is not that much to remove but the goal is to make my body narrower and give me a smaller waistline....I also have a little roundness to my upper abdomen and he's gonna flatten that out....I'm so excited!!!! Glad you are going first though

your consult is not too far off! Yay!
my surgeon will only do up to 6 hours per surgery (or less for safety) so the arms and lift w/implants is the best I can get this round I think. I am going to ask that he do some lipo at top of abdomen and/or flanks if there is any "time" left and just pay that difference after the surgery. After this round I want to do LBL. would love to see what you do wiht the neck skin!

My surgery is scheduled for 5 hours....I will be staying overnight in the hospital where the surgery will be performed....he did not mandate that, I actually requested since I'm 2 1/2 hours away...this way the Dr can check on me in the morning and tell me how the actual surgery went...also pain pump yay

Ice Packs and this and that.
Started the ice pack research. I do not take narcotics nor NSAIDS so i get through my surgeries with Acetaminophen and ice! Going to get two sets that I can lay/wrap on my arms then some round ones and others meant for breast feeding mums to tuck in my bandages/bra.
I like that the surgeon gets the compression garments but now with all of my planning I want to know what they are :)
so will have to message them.
packing -
button down pajamas, button down top and fuzzy socks (and underwear) then just my hair brush, hair ties and face lotion. Will bring my everyday meds as I cannot miss a day on most of them and there are only a few and I have a small travel pack for them.
Lap top, headphones, cell and chargers. (maybe Kindle)
I will wear home what I fly down in to save space/weight.
anything that i MUST have?
trying to travel as light as possible since I cannot carry/lift a backpack etc.
