Best Decision I Have Ever Made

These are my before and after photographs. Absolutely over the moon with the results. The scars as you can see are healing very well and the incisions were made so that you can barely see them when my arms are down by my side.

I highly recommend Mr Winterton as a surgeon. I have always had loose skin on my arms (bingo wings), but not from weight loss. After a lot of research over the years, I decided that now was the time to have surgery.

I met with Robert Winterton, who from the very first moment made me feel at ease. We discussed why I wanted the procedure and he examined my arms, and agreed that he could perform the surgery. He then went through the whole process with me, from how he expected my arms to look post surgery, where he would make the incisions and about the scarring. He also explained the pro’s and con’s of the surgery. I was given time to ask any questions and felt very reassured by his answers. Mr Winterton was also able to show me before and after pictures of the surgery he had performed on other patients.

I received a letter shortly afterwards explaining everything we had discussed, this gave me time to think over my decision. I made a follow up appointment with Mr Winterton a couple of weeks later at his request, so that we could go through the surgery again and to make sure I was happy with everything we had discussed. Again, I felt very reassured that I was making the right decision in having the surgery and for choosing Robert Winterton. I also booked my surgery with him at this time.

On the morning of the surgery I was visited by the anaesthetists who went through his information and I was visited by Mr Winterton, who went through the procedure again. He took some photos and marked both arms in preparation for the procedure. I was very calm before going to theatre and not at all nervous, and I can honestly say that this was because I felt so reassured and confident that Robert would give 110% to my care in theatre.

After the operation, I had dressings on my arms and an elastic bandage the full length of my arms to help with the swelling. I had very minimal pain and this never got any worse.

Mr Winterton visited me post surgery to examine my arms and asked if I had any questions or concerns. Due to the fact that I didn’t live local, I was advised to stay overnight at the Highfield Hospital, just in case there were any complications. Mr Winterton visited me again the next day before being discharged and explained the aftercare procedures.

I returned after one week post surgery to have my dressings removed and again after 7 weeks for a check up.

My experience from the very start has been extremely positive, Robert and his lovely nurse made me feel confident and at ease throughout.

This surgery has been life changing for me and was one of the best decisions I have ever made. My scars are minimal and will only continue to look better. I now show everyone my arms, something I never did before and my confidence has grown so much. I can’t wait to wear sleeveless tops this year. This is all thanks to the expertise of Robert Winterton and his team, whom I cannot thank enough.
