Firstly I'm an actual patient and a long haired patient male with very long hair. Even if you're a short hair recipient you should read this post because its a fair as they'll come and I'll help you avoid the mistake I made with a previous surgeon in ATL on 2 previous procedures. This is also my 3rd procedure overall in Atlanta, but my first with Dr. Anderson which was an oasis by contrast. I don't want to "doctor bash" but rather want anyone reading to know, that the surgeon for my two prior, was considered the cream in review world and once had an impressive reputation online and international and national organizational awards. We'll call him Dr. Cold. As he was my first, like many, it was moving through the dark a bit. But he had all of the accolades, seemed on the cutting edge with the FUE procedure and I was sold. And for a first experience it was fine as I had nothing to compare it too. I spent 7K on first, 19K on 2nd for record. For that kind of money? You'd think there'd be an appealing, stylish office and customer service, before and after? The office was like something out of an old golf course and customer service was jumbly to none. After the 2nd surgery I felt kind of abandoned? In addition I've since learned that when a client is quoted a price, you don't upsell them in the 9th hour on more transplants. It happened and I spent 7K more than advertised. Their office after a few years reached back out but I just had a gut feeling it was time to do more homework. And then I found my happy space with Dr. Anderson. What really caught my eye? Was the ARTAS (key word Art) option. Trust me, after 2 procedures, you're looking for minimum pain, healing and maximum recovery and results! All of my preliminary research showed me ARTAS could really streamline things and so put in my inquiry. Firstly let me tell you that after initial contact, nearly 2 years ago? Their receptionist, Kristin would inquire off and on for next year and a half in a non-pushy way to measure my interest. Most would've quit! Receptionist, Lauren gets some credit too. Eventually upon making a consultation appointment and arriving, I was WOWed by the aesthetic of the office design. It was fun, light and everyone really fresh faced, stylish and you could tell, enjoyed their work. The real deal maker is the Office Manager, Meghan Channon who did my pre-interview. She's vivacious, personable and important note, takes in each client as an individual in a really appreciative way. In fact, everyone working the office's back end does and never do you feel like you're being sold on anything you don't want. That was key for me. While with Meghan I was introduced to the fact that Dr. Anderson went to art school and was trained as an artist. As I myself am one, I thought, "OK, here's a guy who gets it on a whole nother level." Upon meeting Dr. Anderson, I was really taken by his fun, kind and thoughtful demeanor. He answered questions intelligently, presented the thinking on relative topics from a number of different angles and clearly the feel good vibe of the office starts and ends with this guy's sense of humor along with his professional love of details and their importance to his craft. I was having fun even before being an official client! As I was traveling from out of town for my procedure, everyone there very assistive and the weeks prior, stayed in touch on important matters and not just by emailing but phone calls too. As I chose a financing option, their Surgical Coordinator, Vicky Chastain was immensely helpful and wears a number of hats around there. It was also with her that I was introduced to The Laser Cap for post-op light treatment of follicles and would encourage readers to do your homework as of all things in the market for keeping follicles healthy, encouraging new growth, it has substance and not just gimmick. Although this is optional, I spent the extra money for it based on what I'd learned even before talking to Dr. Anderson's office. As far as the surgery, I booked The Westin which is 4 minutes from Anderson Hair Center and everything went really well over the next 7-8 hours. ARTAS did its job but only at the behest of really great human staff around it. And it was fascinating watching it all work at the same time. An experience is good when you feel like you not only learned something but also feel like you made some good friends. I'm only a month out of the chair but my scabs were barely noticeable, gone in a couple of weeks and although expected scalp sensitivity I did not feel too badly wounded as had experienced with other surgeon and am pretty much back to life as normal. On a final note, because I threatened to do so, it was not unimpressive that during Pre-Op, Dr. Anderson from memory, rapped the entirety of Slick Rick & Doug E. Fresh's 1981 "La Di Da Di" with dead on beat boxing! Special thanks to Dr Lee, "new girl" Lauren who took blood painlessly and perfectly and always smiling techs, Keisha, Kia, Keldrick, and Lacquia as they were all so great!
