In my quest for a 'mommy makeover', I selected six physicians to interview in the Grand Rapids area. Three got eliminated over the phone just because I knew specifically what I was looking for and a timeline and they just didn't meet my qualifications. The three in-person meetings were enlightening. I had decided to do the Mommy Makeover due to having lost about 90 pounds and just had a lot of drooping and excess skin. My breasts were floppy. I just didn't feel very attractive. All the surgeons were board certified and perfectly capable of doing the surgery. They all had super high ratings and are well-respected surgeons in this area. Dr. Aitken stood out because of her attention to detail. She not only was thorough in explaining what a 'mommy makeover' would involve, she also asked me a lot of questions about what I wanted. She drew pictures of what she heard me saying and she nailed it right away. In addition, she was so warm and friendly, I left feeling like I'd made a new friend. The outcome of my surgery is absolutely unbelievable. Although I am 60, my breasts and tummy look like they are 20. I am so incredibly happy with how I look. In my whole life I have never had a flat abdomen or full breasts. Dr. Aitken delivered exactly what she drew out and what I was expecting (hoping!). My sister had a BA from Dr. Aitken about 10 years ago and she also speaks very highly of her. She is the one that recommended I seek out a consultation with Dr. Aitken and I sure am glad she did. I cannot imagine anyone else being able to deliver what Dr. Aitken did on an older woman and with such finesse and also with such a great personality and warm bedside manner. It always felt like I was in safe and secure hands. To wrap up, I renamed Dr. Aitken and now call her Dr. A+. She delivered an A+ outcome with an A+ personality. She truly is incredible.
