Airsculpt (Arms) 2 weeks post-op

Today marks 2 weeks since surgery - Most of the bruising is gone. There is still a decent amount of sensitivity in the area. It doesn’t necessarily hurt, it’s more of a tender/sore feeling that feels uncomfortable. Today is the last day I have to wear my garment. I am excited about that, but mostly for sleeping since it restricts my movement, but I know I will continue to wear it here and there during the day. Within this past week, I started to develop the hard lumps in my arms and I try to massage them as often as I can throughout the day in an effort to help them eventually disappear which is said can take 3-6 mos. I do hope this is the case because they are definitely not visually appealing. I will continue to do what I am doing to help me (hopefully) heal faster.

Airsculpt (Arms) Day 3

I was able to take the garment off today and take a shower! This was a huge relief for me to have the garment off for an hour. You need to let the incisions air dry once you’re done showering. Of the 4 incisions, 3 are almost already closed. My bruising is BETTER than I thought- Yes, it’s there, but not AWFUL. Despite the swelling I can still tell a difference from before I went in AND this is only just the start because the real changes don’t start happening until months 3-6. My surgeon communicated with me once again today and answered my questions and saw at home pictures of myself right now and said everything is looking good. I put my garment on again with help and it was much more bearable than before. I rubbed arnica gel after showering and will do it again tonight to help with the bruising and swelling. Tonight I do not have to sleep on my back with my arms raised. I am so happy because last night I didn’t rest well because sleeping this way 2 nights in a row hurt my neck and back.

AirSculpt (Arms)

Hello everyone. I decided to post this review because when I was searching for reviews I couldn’t find too many of them and when I did find some, people would ask the poster questions (questions that I would have in my head too) and they wouldn’t get answered. I started to inquire about AirSculpt at the end of January 2022. I sent an email with my information and got an answer within an appropriate timeframe. I went back and forth and decided not to book at that time. However, in May I made an appt to speak with the surgeon face to face. I was accommodated and was pleased with my visit. At that time, I met with Dr. Perkins and Yulissa. Both very nice and took the time to answer my questions. That day prior to leaving I booked my appt for my procedure. A few weeks prior to the procedure, I was told Dr. Perkins would be out of town and I would need to have the procedure by Dr. LoTempio. They arranged a FaceTime call so that I could physically see who my new surgeon would be and ask any questions. I am SO happy that Dr. LoTempio was my surgeon. She was 100% honest and realistic from the first moment we spoke when I asked her about expectations regarding my arms. I just got the procedure done yesterday. I was asked to be there at 10:30 am for my 11:00 am appt and my nurse was Sandy. Although the wait time was a bit long (My surgery took place at 1 pm), I honestly can’t complain. I was taken care of by my nurse and was kept up to date on everything. I arrived at about 10:15 am and left at around 2:40 pm. Not too bad at all. I was treated in a respectful and kind manner by everyone. I was given medicine at about 12:50 pm to get me relaxed for the beginning of the procedure. I was asked to use two puffs of laughing gas for the shot I got on my upper leg. I didn’t like the feeling of the laughing gas so I didn’t use it at all during the numbing portion prior to the start of the surgery. Since I have a high tolerance for pain I didn’t get the full dose of Xanax either (I had never had Xanax before). I felt normal… not drowsy or anything. I could feel the numbing taking place which seemed to take a decent amount of time and once the arm sculpting started the time went by faster. I couldn’t necessarily feel what was going on inside the arm, at one point if felt like a tickling sensation. Then like pinching. The skin tightening felt like little currents. The most uncomfortable part was the different positions you have to get into to get your arms worked on, but Dr. LoTempio and Sandy were really great with checking up on me and talking to me, etc. Today is the day after surgery and the hardest thing for me has been changing my pads for the leakage of my incisions (but to be honest, it hasn’t been an extensive amount) because the compression garment is so tight. However, I was able to at least sleep and I’ve followed the instructions given to the “t” with taking meds, walking, moving arms, etc. I am uncomfortable, but it’s manageable. Just glad I’m not working and that my husband is home to help me. The reason I say I’m not sure if I would do it again is because it’s too soon to tell the results (have to wait 3-6 mos) but based on the amount of fat taken out I know that the decision I made was a wise one. I just have to be patient to see the results. I am excited. I received a call from the doctor yesterday evening and I received a call from a nurse this morning and then from the surgeon again. She gave me her personal cell and I can ask any questions I want except I haven’t had to because they’re so good at staying in touch and the instructions given are clear and to the point. Plus the doctor reminds you when she calls you too. Tomorrow I get to shower and take off the garment to wash it and I can be without it on for an hour. Although I am looking forward to this moment, I am also nervous because I am very tender, bruised and swollen…. So I know it probably won’t be a pretty sight, but I’m preparing myself for the moment. Aside from all this, the most intense moment is probably when you have to sign all the paperwork and disclaimers….. but once again, the nurses and surgeon are really great about answering any and all questions. This is the first time I post a review on RealSelf so if I can post updates I will. And if questions are asked, I will also try to answer. I want to help others that may be on the fence like I was based on the lack of reviews online. I can only speak for my arms since it’s the only body part I got done and I am happy to do so. When my husband, mom and sister asked me if I would do it again, I did say I would….. I mean I saw all that fat taken out…. Now I just need to let nature take its course and be patient in the waiting. I don’t have my before pics yet and I believe I will get my first set of afters at the 1 month mark, I will try to post them at that time. A big thank you to everyone at Elite Body Sculpture in NYC for being so kind and welcoming to me and making me feel comfortable during my “stay” from the receptionists to the nurses and my surgeon. :-)
