I have a problem of the bony portion of the nose...

I have a problem of the bony portion of the nose having been lost 35 years ago due to resorption after a severe injury. i described this to this doctor during a phone consultation and was told, "I Can Fix That", and that He was one of only a few doctors in the world capable of doing so. I ageir terms including; being an,"Out-Of-Town", patient, to sending them a $1,000.00 deposit to reserve a time for the procedure. at the consultation, I was told repeatedly, "Save The Pictures For Later", every time I tried to take out of an envelope, a card with a cut-out of what I hoped could be achieved for a profile. He kept insisting to tell Me in words what I didn't like. On theeir website thevideo of Him and His fellow doctor listing off the most requested "Celebrity noses". Being Hollywoods "Top 2" rated plastic surgeons (According to their web-site); I thought I'd finally found the man whom could lift what has been a 35 year long curse from My face. Again back to the consultation; i told the doctor i would have liked the tip made longer and a plumper graft to restore portions which were resected; by a lousy attempt to balance the collapsed upper part of My nose; back in 1981, which made everything smaller and more feminine. The doctor said He didn't see the need for that. I stated how I never liked the way the tip stuck up aabove the dorsum and the collapsed sides of the middle and upper vault due to the bony structure no longer being present. So the next day the procedure was performed and a week later the cast came off. Things looked better for a short while but a month later a profile picture still showed a small, somewhat high nose which was why I wanted the lower portions restored. then as more time went by, the notched or sunken sides started revealing their ugly selves again. Then in December of that year, an off-center bumpy ridge started appearing on the top, right side of My dorsum. I sent a series of photos to the doctor's office explaining My displeasure with the outcome, and how i still thought I needed the tip lowered and lengthened and a plumper graft so that the mid-face had some natural looking prominence, along with more done to raise the sunken sides. I recieved a an E-mail in reply from His nurse, stating how the things to be done were talked about, with Her as a witness, right before going into surgery; and that the changes I now wanted constituted a "Whole Different Nose", and I would be charged another $9.000 for the procedure, (On top of the $17.00 I already paid!) I wrote back, how His nurse wasn't present at my consultation to see me asking about these steps being taken in the first place. It's as if in their minds, I picked out a nose; that like a pair of shoes; was, "So Last Month", and now wanted the, "Latest". i explained how having a horrible looking nose has resulted in society treating Me like like an undesirable and made for hard economic conditions. The doctor then contacted Me saying how He would do some additional measures for no charge to Me. Then life got more complicated and I was delayed in taking Him up on that offer immediately. in the fall I contacted Him again and started getting resistance, and now I regret having ever made contact with this, "Practicioner", in the first place, after reading how He doesn't ust rib cartilage and that it limits what He can do for nasal reconstruction. That is probably the real reason that He didn't, "See The Need", to restoring the entire nose to a larger more masculine size and shape; which I wanted to illustrate with a visual aid, but was not allowed to, during My consultation.

Feeling like "Humpty Dumpty"

dr. Mayer is the coolest. He tried to help Me, but I suffered an injury long ago which resulted in the complete shattering and loss of the nasal bones due to resorption. I've researched this problem literally for years ,and can't even find any articles on the web on how to treat it. He told Me that this complication is in the top one percentile group of difficulty to deal with; and due to the unavailability of any dissertations anywhere on the web, I now realize He's correct. I thank Him for trying; no one else would even attempt it. I aalso have the added factor of thin skin making it such that solid cartillage grafts would be obvious. I was just frustrated when I posted the review, but Doctor Mayer was like talking to a favorite uncle. I will be changing My rating as soon as I can figure out how to do it. If You have problems which are in the range that can be treated, Dr Mayer is the best.
