Last month I received another (5th) hopefully last bridges. They couldn't get the screw out of last bridge had to cut it off. My poor jaw was sore for days. This newest is better than all so far but still blocks my tongue causing a lisp & frustration when speaking. I've learned that each bridge comes with new issues. I will need to go back as having pain in one implant area. As well as some inside adjustmens needing made. I still have some but very little discomfort between the front top implants. I think (and I think about it a lot) I did some tissue damage to the gum the first week after surgery. I was very swollen & tried to swish water under the bridge. I felt the swollen gum move out of under the implant.
I wish I could say they feel natural now, I want to badly. Perhaps many are tired of my complaints. I know I'm tired of it.
I only submit for those who are still thinking about it & for my own documentation.

You keep sharing.. it's good for everyone to understand that it's not wonderful for all! I know I appreciate your posts as I know I'm not on my own with this. I wish you were not having difficulty, but it means it's also just not all in my head! x

I don't believe anyone forgets about them. Dr Golpa did my procedure in 2012, or 13. I'm got used to them to a certain degree, but keeping them clean after eating, especially out, is always on my mind.

Thank you for sharing your story. It is way to easy to believe the "Clear Choice" line that come in for a day and it's all taken care. I want to read your other posts now and see where the issues started with cautionary tale.
I wish you luck to heal fast and finish your journey.

My transplants were done with my dentist of 30 years and an oral surgeon. I am so happy to have had it done. He told me that I like many patients only need the top teeth done. Most of the expense is from the lab.from start to finish took about 1 year but always had teeth. Cost was $18,000. Covers forever, gave me a beautiful water pick. My top teeth only.

I feel for you....your story is almost identical to mine. I am looking at my 4th set...the first 3 from Golpa. I currently have the flex material...the staining is awful, my mouth feels dry continuously & the material seems to be crumbling away. I am "scared" to go back to Golpa & get another set that does not fit my face, my mouth..etc. I haven't been able to talk properly for over a year...& used to do public speaking. It's humiliating constantly being asked "what" when I talk...basically, it's been a nightmare. My current & past sets have no shape to the teeth...flat & fat..not feminine at all. I have been researching other materials & professionals to correct my Golpa teeth. Once, again...I feel your pain. Thank you for hearing me out.

Don't be scared, you aren't alone plus they've heard this all before. I know many have their glowing reports but many have daily issues. I ran into the same lady twice in the office, she has been going back quite often too. If you think the teeth are to big, tell them! They really don't know how it feels. We are not alone sweetie, you are not alone. Dr. Golpa is very good at what he does, especially with the harder cases like us. Try to set up your appointment for him. He lives in California so he's always traveling, so time is limited in Vegas but I believe it's worth it to wait to lesson the anxiety. And the mouth causes lots of anxiety. Contact me, we can be teeth friend. I'm starting a club. LOL Hugs ~ Jean

Good morning Jean & thank you so much for your prompt reply. I've set an appt. for Feb...giving them one more chance...if all issues are not corrected I'll be seeking another implant center. How do you like their "latest & greatest" material?...this patented secret wording is unsettling to me. I love the idea of a club...lol. By the skin of my teeth...Have an enjoyable day & hope to hear back from you...Kindest regards, Mary

I'm sooo sorry this sounds terrible. I'm due to get the "All on 4's" exactly 2 weeks from TMR (Monday).
I been researching implants now 2yrs approximately an keep focusing on Dr. Golpa bcus of the implants in a day advertising.
Stories like yours an Pjss terrify me bcus for one I saved, begged, an borrowed an sold to get this $$, for this.. For two I have to be able to speak well I speak to the community an in my profession I have to speak clearly.

I never heard the drynedd an the feeling of ur teeth crumbling away..
It scares me to have teeth too big for my mouth or my bite off an terrified to keep having to change arches..
THTS HORRID!,
I have researched other places an couple other doctors that stand out but I would not have my permanent in a day an that's is what my biggest motivation beside comfort an looks is to go to Dr. Golpa..

Tell me please do u pay each time u get another arch or adjustments to ur arch an have u had any problems w your actual implants?

I need to be able to speak well..
29,500 may be change to some ppl but it's my life savings I was gone put den payment on a house with so I really really need this to work!

TAKE A DEEP BREATH & BREATH.... You're going to be fine! First, you should read all my reviews. My first surgery was in Cancun. 2 months later I had Dr. Golpa start over. DON'T THINK ABOUT MEXICO! There's no guarantee on producs, they don't have anyone to be accountable to & it's dangerous. I know this is a ton of money! And research is so important. You cannot let all our reviews scare you though. The only reason I do them is to hand out my experience for others to know ahead of time what COULD happen & plan for it just in case. The new material Im sure is being used in all the offices now. (They will be opening in the DC area too) All my return visits are included in the original cost. I speak clearly according to everyone. I hear the difference & more so feel it, my tongue being restricted. In my original teeth, I had a big overbite. I'm thinking I was what is called a tongue thruster, which means I was pushing my teeth forward. So naturally, my tongue is super frustrated. Another thing that I believe has made this difficult for me is my illness. I have fibromyalgia. I think our nervous system may always be over stimulated... Also my age may be a factor. The younger people seem to really adjust easier. I met another implant friend through this RS app. She did really well. She maybe can help you be more assured it'll be good. I'll look up her @ name. More importantly, you need to be confident in your decision. This is a big deal. It can be a good thing if you go in with the right frame of mind. I don't know these other doctors, Golpa is the best in his field, I believe. So at least they are trained & monitored by the best. Just like all humans, no two are alike. I've heard good things about Dr. Anderson. Regardless of where you go, you'll need adjustments, you'll need cleanings, so travels are necessary. Please plan for them if going far for this. My cousin had his done through Clear Choice, he's very happy. So it's the individual & their own experience. Feel free to contact me by private message anytime. I'd like to hear more on what decision you make & hear how it goes. Wishing for you the best decision. :)

I will be going through our old correspondence & find what I’m looking for to share with you. You'll be fine... Blessings Jean :)

Dr. Motiwala in Hyderabad India is the best maxillofacial surgeon doing the best procedure in the world. 22 single piece implants no abutments with zirconia bridges. Not cheap acrylic bridges that look like dentures. His bridges look real and come right out of the gums. Lifetime warranty too. One ten day visit and it's done. Color and size is picked by you. No pain, swelling or bruising either. 12,000 the 14,000. People stop going to use dentists that only give 4 implants and acrylic dentures. Get the best for less. It's been 6 years for me no problems. Read his reviews and results. You'll be impressed.

Dr Golpa offers Zarconia too. Personally, I'd never go to India for any type of medical procedure. Again, I had my procedure in 2013 in Vegas, and now Dr Golpa has locations on the Within 2 hours fly time from anywhere in the continental US. The thought of going to India for any medical procedure, seriously frightens me. Do they have any regulations at all in terms of a board of health, or anything to ensure cleanliness, or consumer protection? That is a question directly to you, since you have had your procedure in India

NYTodd I have to ask what was the design process for your G4 by Golpa teeth? Did you see renderings did you get to make adjustments to the final designs?

If I can step in here, I too have had many problems since day one. But I will add the 'newest material', at least my newest material, is much nicer. Not dry at all! If you are able, as for Cathy from the lab. She is the only one who's gotten my smile right.. at least as close to right as it's been. I wish you the best of luck in February! .... I'd join the club ladies :)

Hi, You really had a hard time. I am glad to hear things are working out. I am considering doing this but I am not too sure now? I thought Dr. Golpa was excellent according to all the reviews. What about this new material? I currently have a full upper denture and what they call an over denture supported by 3 implants. My bottom is pretty good but I cannot stand the palate. I too feel like I am going crazy with the top. I cannot get used to my palate being enclosed, it bothers me 24/7. Now I am wondering if this G-4 is the right procedure for me or perhaps I should do an over denture for the top with 4 to 5 implants which will get rid of the palate and the denture will clip on to the implants(same as I have on bottom) They can be removed to clean and snap back. The only thing that bothers me that they have to be removed to sleep. They are not permanent, for cleaning purposes I think this is a pretty good choice since I control the cleaning. I am not totally happy with the fact that they are not permanent. I would love to have the permanent but I am very afraid of having bad issues. I have been through a lot of problems and 3 years later I am not where I would like to be. Your advise will be greatly appreciated. I do not know what to do, very confused some people say this G-4 is great and others do not feel the same way!!!!! If I do the all on 4 my current 3 bottom implants will have to be removed. More money, I am already $16,000 into what I now have and if I do the same on top like I now have it will be another 12,000 or go for the G-4 and go for broke. Thank you for your time. I hope you continue to improve and reach your maximum satisfaction.

I like you are carefully thinking about it. It's really a big surgery & a big expense. I cannot advise you on which way to go, everyone's different but if you've had issues with becoming adjusted in the past, consider you may in the future but that puts you prepared & maybe you'll be one of those who are in love right away, or a month into them. Some of us have extra sensitive mouths & probably nervous system. I think a portion of my issues come due to having fibromyalgia. I'm overly sensitive to changes and my mouth always was extra sensitive. Where you live, how much time & money also needs to be considered because chances are you'll need adjustments & new sets. If you consider Dr. Golpa's does even 2 surgeries a week ( which I'm sure it's much more) the amount of reviews only reflect those that know where to put the reviews here or the glowing office reviews. I do not know how anyone can get a set of teeth and not need adjustments & extended follow ups. I alone have been in the almost every 2 months since my surgery. But also, I do believe Dr. Golpa is excellent at this procedure. He's confident & very experienced. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone considering this. He only does full sets, upper & bottoms too my knowledge. The teeth are beautiful, for this alone I'd say don't rule it out if you have the time & money. Unfortunately, just going for a consult is VERY difficult for many. Having them permanent does have its advantages, one being no one has to ever see you toothless again except the office. If admitted to hospital or have a procedure, your teeth don't come out. The"permanent" are still removed at least once a year for a good through cleaning. The implants are cleaned at this time to. For daily, we have a floss we use & a water pik. These clean the areas really well. There's a gap between the denture & the bone for daily cleaning. I jumped into the first Mexico experience with what I now understand was limited knowledge. I thought understanding the procedure, reading reviews was all I really needed. The second surgery I did quickly because I had become frightened about having to go back to Mexico & needing more surgery because they put the mini's in, which sounds like what you have. The dentures hold onto the mini implan & can be removed any time. I knew every week that went by I was healing making it more difficult for removal of the Mexico implants. I worried about inferior products infecting my already sick system. Once Dr. G started surgery, he found I had considerable bone loss, needing a lot of bone grafting. This and the fact that I believe my mouth was still swollen from Mx surgery, had my mouth a different size & now the teeth don't fit as snug as I'd like. My last visit I saw Dr. G, he knows his stuff. He is doing the process of elimination addressing the most critical needs until we get to the minor ones. Before I was seeing whomever was there but for now on it'll be Golpa only until it's straighten out. I understand this process of elimination because how can he understand how MY mouth feels. I just need to go back but I've been sick and not able to travel to Vegas (45 min drive for me) for these all day appointments. Now that I'm healing, I'll set up another visit. I wish you could have a consult before making the decision, well you can...but if you're flying know this can be expensive. If you want to talk more & privately, feel free to send a private message. Any questions I'm open to answering. Did I answer these well enough? Maybe @shazsmile can give you some advise as well, she's had her share of issues & has a better memory than me. Ugh.... Wishing only the best for you. Do what your heart & mind tell you after getting enough information together. If you decide on a consult, start writing all your questions now, be very thorough with your questions. Again, I do believe Dr. Golpa is very good at what he does. Just some of us are more complicated. And the new material is so much like real teeth. The first ones I had sounded like glass tapping together, it was not fun. These are a dry feeling which only those who have it understand. But the newest is very nice! Light weight & very smooth & pretty! Also, start shopping pictures of how you want your teeth to look. Verbal description isn't communicated well because it's open to the receivers interruptions. I can send you some ideas if you have a problem getting started, in a private message. ALL the Best~Jean x
January 17, 2019
Hi Jean, Thank you for getting back to me so quickly and yes you gave me very good advise. You did answer some of my concerns. Please do send me some ideas since I do not know where to start. I am going to look into a consultation. It may not be a bad idea at all since I need to know what will happen with the 3 implants that I have on bottom. They are not mini implants. They are implants that have fused very well at this point since I have had them done 3 years ago. I need to have some kind of idea as of how I would want my teeth to look as you suggested but I do not know where to begin. Any help that you can give me will be very appreciated. Thank you again for taking the time to educate me on this. There should be more caring people like you who are willing to assist others that are facing this difficult issue. Regards, Mary.

Not sure this was addressed to my post but I have only 1 implant left on left side of my mouth and still have numbness feeling in my lips after 4 weeks went to oral surgeon and he said that I was fine but don’t know how he assessed that by only looking in my mouth would just like to know if this numbness will go away as it’s very annoying was thinking now maybe I need a consultation with a periodontist for clarification I live in Australia so I am only here for feedback any comments would be appreciated cheers

It should go away. But if in a few more weeks it doesn't, I'd suggest seeing someone who can be sure you are healing correctly & no nerves are being pressed on. I believe they can take an x-ray to assure you. I don't know if just talking & looking they can see anything related to nerves & numbness is healing properly. I forgot I had this sensation after my first surgery. I didn't think it would go away. But eventually it did. I'm thinking about 6 weeks but maybe a little less time. In Mexico they did laser therapy on my face & lips because of the significant bruising & numbness. This may have helped. Something you can look into. Best of luck. Feel free to contact me anytime. :)

Hello, I also have fibromyalgia and I’m super sensitive to everything, even scratchy clothes. I’m scared to death to have my teeth pulled and to have the work done. I also have an overbite and desperate need more chewing surface. My teeth are awful and I’m so afraid I’m going to be the person that hates the implants and teeth but have no choice now. It’s a lot of money and no turning back once it’s done.

I should tell you that if I were given a choice knowing what I do now, if I had full knowledge how I feel now versus before, I'd never do it. I had a meltdown a few hours ago, not knowing why. After a few hours of resting I realized I just have tons of tension in my jaw & face. Yes I can eat better & have a nice smile. If I were young, this would be more important I guess. I don't have life outside my home, my time is spent caring for multiple animals, this could be part of my always having my mind on my mouth... I don't know. But my dear friend I met through this app, she also has multiple problems & fibromyalgia. Although she's getting in a better place now, this has been a long process for her. She had hers done before mine. I would advise you to wait until you are ready. If you go in with fears, your body with FMS is going to go through a lot as well as your mental health. Maybe you need more advice from others with fibromyalgia who've gone through this & see if there's a better balance to go forward. Honestly, you could just slide by but you know your body...how does it respond to change? How does a toothache affect you? Be brutally honest with yourself on this before going forward. You'll have your gums cut open, teeth pulled, bones grinded on & if none grafts are needed, another thing the body has to adjust to. Then implants screwed in, stitches, swelling, (incredible pressure in the beginning from the swelling pressing against the teeth I guess). Please talk to your fibromyalgia doctor, others who've had had any kind of implants (foreign material) in their sick bodies how they've done. I would be lying if I told you anything different. I'm sorry. I hope you have better luck than me. Anytime I can help contact me-pm me if you like. Blessings, Jean

Who is doing your surgery?
Dr Golpa pulled mine in minutes, and I was able to go out and eat the next night.
What you should be concerned about is your bite when it's done.
U had a small problem with one of my abutments, and my bite will get off after 9 months, or so. Dr Golpa sees me every year (sometimes more, sometimes less), but I'll bite my toung quite a bit. It gets bad a night, even with the mouth gaurd it wakes me from my sleep at times.
I must have got a slight bit of nerve damage from the surgery, as I'll also wake up on occasion with my toung numb, tingling, and that's far more unpleasant than when he pulled. He is something else, especially when it comes to pulling teeth! I'm 8 years out from my original surgery.
I'm hoping to speak with someone who had them done before me

One year from Cancun mistake

User Avatar

So yesterday is my one year mark from my mistakes made by trying the less expensive route, Mexico. They don’t mention that with expenses, extra time needed to stay, food, travel, treatment plan changes, additional trips etc etc that eventually I’ve spent almost what the Las Vegas doctor charges.
As for Dr. Golpa’s office, I’m at 4 different set of teeth at this point. Lots of changes made, material & shape.
The latest I asked for an overbite to make room for my tongue which is held back & causes me to stumble over words & just stop talking out of frustration. They really didn’t want to make them more forward but even though they moved them out more, I still have tongue movement issues but not nearly as frustrating as before.
I don’t like that the two front teeth are so flat but other wise this latest material is very nice. No dry feeling & very smooth. The last teeth were only 2 months old & very dirty & lost the shine.
They’re having material problems with these new flexi teeth, is what I was told.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with these new bridges, we are working on our new relationship... Still would like to have rounder front top teeth but trying to adjust to these. The techs & doctors have tried to work with me & my quirky requests. I asked lots of questions & learned I’m not the only patient who makes these changes. I guess I’m not that original

Wow! One year since that horrible experience :( I am glad you have made it out of that. I know you are still working toward your perfect teeth but it definitely seems as though you are getting closer!! What kind of problems are they having with the new flexi teeth? I am just curious :)
User Avatar

The last ones were th dry that others complained & feeling gritty, needed better polishing. When they removed them I was shocked to see how discolored they were & had no shine to them. These I have now are very smooth! No dry feeling at all. I don’t have many complaints at all with the new ones. I do still have mouth pain though. My top front gets very achy by day end. Like I hit my front teeth (if i had my)The doctor doesn’t know why I experience this. I think it’s my talking pulling down on the implants. But that’s just my guess. How are you doing? I wish I had your experience! I’m still slurring but not nearly as bad & I’m trying to teach my tongue to use bottom teeth for sounds. Singing doesn’t work like you suggested because I don’t know the words to most songs. :•O

Oh dear person whose Liz de is ‘on the edge’ Life can be very confusing. I’m sorry for all your troubles, I truly am. It’s hard when you read about us who found a way to afford teeth because I read about your problems & there’s no answers. I wish I had a billionaires fortune to help others like you. Please know I’m so appreciative for this beautiful smile I been blessed with. Because this app is a place for others to read & decide, I try to be as forthcoming as possible & share everything. But this is just a small percentage of my life, very small, we too have so many health problems in our family. We too feel like jumping off a bridge many days. I’m hoping you’re just using this ending as a end of rope analogy & not a cry for help. To many people would suffer if bridge jumps happened. I’m sure you’re VERY loved. If you need or just want to talk, send me a private message. I’d be happy to talk with you about this life & what I’ve learned over these decades. Snap Ins with the mini implants I had from Mexico. I didn’t ask for them,I never heard about them, nor knew anything about what they were. The Mx dentist put them I. For short term which meant they were going to cut me open agin 6 months. I was in a panic when I realized this. Because of the communication problems, I asked how they would remove them but never received an answer. They can be very nice if they fit! I did like the tops & that there wasn’t any palate. The palate I have now is only a few milliliters. Hardly anything on the roof. I can try to send pictures of my teeth before they put them in. So I’m saying the snap ons are nice! And may be an answer if you can afford them. Letting your teeth rot out is dangerous. If you get an blood infection it can hurt your heart, you can die! At least get your teeth pulled if they are painful & make a plan from there. What I know now with bridges, I think a dented bridge could be comfortable! They are almost paper thin. My friend had them for years before Golpa. This may have helped her not have any issues with the top teeth now.I don’t know but if I were you I’d be willing to try knowing what I do now. It’s just vanity & the fear of the top palate that made me go here first... I was so wrong to allow my fear to lead me into more issues than I may have had without these implants. On the edge, look into them. Implants are not an answer, not the only solution. You can have a beautiful smile with dentures & only you & those you tell would know! Wishing you special moments life can bring. :) x

So sorry to hear that you have had so many issues with your G4 Teeth. I had my teeth pulled in May 2017 by Dr. Golpa and he himself did my original Implants, 6 on the bottom and 5 on top. I have had minimal problems and I absolutely love them. I am still on my first set. The biggest problem I have had was a loose screw (probably not my only loose screw), but that was fixed immediately and the only issues I can claim are an occasional Filling coming out of an access hole. Certainly not a Big Deal by any means. Hang in there, because I honestly believe that Dr. Golpa truly cares about your satisfaction. He will not stop until you are satisfied, but like you say, we are all different. I Recommend G4 by Golpa very Highly.

Cannot recall exactly what I wrote; most likely being too dramatic probably hopeless and down. Whatever I stated came from the heart; which has been sad and broken for too long. Just wish these procedures were less costly or somewhat closer to my geographical area. Well-still looking!!

I'm curious why you had so many implants? What determines the 6 on bottom & 5 top? I cannot imagine not thinking teeth 24/7. I'd love to get to this point and do wonder if it's because of my illness & age. Question for you, how's the eating? Do you get excess food packed in between your bottom lip like chew? I can have a 1/2 french fry caught there. Plus just the molars get so caked with food I'm always needing to clean between bites. So no public eating for me. Fingers in mouth digging at food, ugh. I'm hoping for new impressios on my next visit. I truly believe this has to be part of my problem, that I was still swollen from Mx surgery. Fingers crossed for me this next visit will be the beginning of the final! Thank you for the encouragement. :)
