I was told by my oral surgeon that there was a chance of nerve damage from getting my wisdom teeth removed because they have grown into the nerve. I'm looking for the percentage of likelihood that this could happen. I've read so many different horror stories of people having permanent numbness in their face after extraction. I'm wondering if I should consider mentioning a coronectomy to my doctor or try to get a Cone Beam CT Scan done prior to surgery to better assess.
I have 3 wisdom teeth and I'm 30. I usually am told to get them removed. Sometimes I'm told to get them all out no sometimes some. They don't bother me at all. I'm concerned about the risk of nerve damage and don't want to loose lip sensation. I was told there's a medium risk of nerve damage. What do you recommend?
I have fully erupted wisdom teeth. I was told by 2 dentists it would be quick to extract and would only need numbing. I need a molar extracted as its completely broken in half and the pulp is gone due to decay. I was wondering if with braces would my wisdom teeth be able to migrate/shift to replace that gap? Or could they implant my molar into place?
I just had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed on 6/17/13 and had a few questions. When can I have normal food like pizza? When can I drink out of a straw? When will the holes fully cover? Why is there a loose skin on the side of my back molar that was next to my wisdom tooth?
I have asked my dermatologist and my oral surgeon this question. The oral surgeon says it's fine. However, my dermatologist recommends waiting until I have been off of Accutane for at least a month. So, now I am not sure what I should do as my wisdom teeth are bad enough to need to come out asap. Is it dangerous to have IV sedation while on Accutane? Should I stop a few days ahead of time or would that even make a difference? Thanks for your help.
I recently had my two lower wisdom teeth removed. It is day 6 of recovery. My left side is in no pain. The right side however is still angry. I am managing pain with Tylenol and ibprophen. I take it every 6 hours because it is very uncomfortable. I plan on visiting my surgeon but in the mean time I am curious if dry socket will heal itself providing I have good oral hygiene and I rinse with salt water. Is this something I just have to work through?
One side of my face has already had the stitches fall out while the other side has yet to lose them, it has also only been 4 and a half days since the surgery. There is no bleeding, is this normal?
