The scar is higher than I expected and slightly tethered. 3 years ago the muscle repair became undone. I had an umbilical hernia & the Diastasis Recti had returned, I was offered keyhole surgery on the NHS to repair these, but was told that KH surgery doesn't have the longevity of open Surgery. It has now become undone again, and I have the DR & umbilical hernia again. I consulted a PS via the NHS & was told that the previous surgeries will have compromised the blood supply to the scar area and therefore it would present a high risk of healing problems and infection. Please could you advise me.
I had a TT done and 12 years ago and have always felt internal pulling and itching. Within the last few years, the sutures are coming to surface and pushing themselves out of my skin. I have had 2 surgically removed already and a third has surfaced and is getting infected. The surgery to remove these has left me with dimple like scars. It currently looks like I have 3 different belly buttons on my abdomen and they just keep on coming, one by one. I dont know why this is occurring and what to do
I fear I'll get toxoplasmosis or salmonella in future surgery wounds: my hubby regularly cross-contaminates & isn't careful. Showing general teaching videos didn't help. Is there some teaching kit/simulation/experiment designed to teach about microbes? If I do any type of surgery, he must understand or I can't trust him to help. It's already a problem in the kitchen now i.e. dish cloth used under a defrosting package of raw poultry was put back as if clean. HELP!!
I don't think this is normal: I had a Tummy Tuck done 10 days ago and there's some clear discharge. That small hole with the yellow inside scares me. I don't have fever, but I suspect it's an infection. I'm really worried. I have been putting some neosporin in the last two days but it feels like it's getting worse. Please help!
My ins. has approved abdominoplasty , panniculectomy and and mastopexy but I cant find a surgeon that takes ins. Ive gone to so many consultations and the Dr just shuts me down like Im an idiot. I know the difference with panniculectomy and I know most insurances wont cover the MR. But I have a great BCBS PPO & my PCP got approval for abdominoplasty, diastasis repair, panniculectomy and breast reduction and lift. 1000% covered. I have a history of skin infections, back pain, hernias etc
I had a tummy tuck 6 months ago. Ive had 3 infections.. my tummy tuck does not look like its healing as much as I would have expected. I still have these holes that you can squeeze white stuff out of I dont think think is normal after 6 months po
I had a full Tummy Tuck on Oct 17, 2008. Five months later, I still have stitches on my hips. My plastic surgeon says maybe next month they'll come out, but they hurt very much when I wear pants. Is this normal? Also, when my drains were being removed, they got stuck somehow and my surgeon had to undo stitches to remove the drain, and then he restitched after he pulled out the drain. It was so painful! What should I do? He doesn't even want to see me for another month! Can they become infected? Thanks!
