I had a TT and BL 9 months ago. My scars started opening up and stitches started to come out. They took months to heal and now I'm left with ugly scars on my TT scar, under my breasts and belly button. My doctor has been injecting them for months but they look awful. I have tried silicon strips, scar guard, hydroquinone but scars are still bumpy and itch and burn. My PS refuses to do a revision because my skin doesn't heal right but I've had other surgeries in the past with no visible scars!
My scars remain significantly lighter than the rest of my skin. I'm having a TT in two weeks and my doctor wants me to start using hydroquinone, which is a skin lightner. He explained to me the reasons why which I'm still fussy on.
This is my tummy tuck scar and belly button revision with the same Dr. Ary Krau. My belly button did not improve even a little but its color got worst now its like purple and i do know all belly buttons are dark and after surgery they might be more visible but mine is kind of purple. My question is would hydroquinone help? Do i put it all over the belly button? I am using the silicone stripes on the tt scar and it seems also really dark which did not happened with the prior scar
Two months ago I had scar revision performed on an abdominoplasty from over a year ago. I had the flank area scars and my naval redone due to hyperpigmentation. My doctor has prescribed me hydroquinone 4%. I don't go out in the sun and the scars are always under my clothing. Can I apply micropore tape over the areas after the hydroquinone has dried as a sun protector? I also have ScarAway strips that I can apply over the tape, too. SPF lotions are inconvenient when I'm getting ready for work.
