I have heard conflicting answers about a little lipo to the upper abdomen, just under the breasts when having a tummy tuck. Some say you can't do it because of the blood supply. Some say a little lipo is okay.
I want to get 360 lipo. Only lipo for now tummy tuck in a few months. Reason for this is, I want to do a bbl first, I want the entire back and entire abdomen area lipo. I've been told if I get a TT at the same time, they can't lipo my upper abdomen because of blood supply issues. How true is this?
Scheduled for extended Tummy Tuck soon; had preop exam with my primary care md today and she identified small lipomas in my upper abdomen (area in blue on pic). PS indicated during consult that lipo would not be done on this upper ab area due to blood supply issues there, so I'm concerned about whether these lipomas will be removed during the procedure when the upper ab skin is stretched down into place.
What happens to the blood supply after abdominoplasty? I know that the abdomen is undermined down to the fascia overlying the abdominal muscles. I know blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, and nerves are severed, running vertically from the muscle to the skin. I also know that this restriction of the blood supply is one reason why it is dangerous to combine abdominoplasty with liposuction of the upper abdomen. Do these regrow in the new skin flap? If so, do they regrow to the same extent of coverage as prior to surgery? Over what period of time?
The scar is higher than I expected and slightly tethered. 3 years ago the muscle repair became undone. I had an umbilical hernia & the Diastasis Recti had returned, I was offered keyhole surgery on the NHS to repair these, but was told that KH surgery doesn't have the longevity of open Surgery. It has now become undone again, and I have the DR & umbilical hernia again. I consulted a PS via the NHS & was told that the previous surgeries will have compromised the blood supply to the scar area and therefore it would present a high risk of healing problems and infection. Please could you advise me.
Will this discoloration (bruise looking go away?) and the open wound? Any advice is appreciated. I do hold my PS in high regards but I also want to get some more insight. My PS has me using Santyl ointment 2x day and gauze pad for wound care and to open the compression garment in order to get more blood supply to the area. Anything else?? I am getting worried about my complication as it looks horrible and doesn't see to be getting better in color. How long till I see results? Is the color norm. I'm non-smoker, great health.
