Recently, Ive been more self conscious about my teeth. My first problem is that the edges of most of my teeth are starting to appear translucent. Ive used Crest Whitening Strips before to whiten my teeth so I dont know if thats part of the cause. Ive heard about remineralization of the teeth, so would that solve the translucency? Another thing is that the lower part of my bottom teeth are more yellow than the rest despite my whitening strips efforts.
I've noticed more and more that my teeth are transparent around the edges. I've noticed in photographs and when looking up close in the mirror. I'm 36 and never had a problem with my teeth including my fang. Is this something to be alarmed about?
Years ago I tried white strips - after 1 strip the bottom 1/3 of my front teeth became so see-thru they looked grey. I let my teeth stain so this would be less noticeable - now my teeth are yellow. I do have chronic GERD/acid on my enamel. I want to whiten again. I've read it doesn't damage enamel yet also read that increased teeth translucency can possibly be from a poor bite or over-bleaching. After bleaching, is this inc translucency usually temporary? Or does it, in fact, thin your enamel?
I got my braces off, had a cleaning and started the home teeth bleaching kit. I used the Venus 35 (3 tubes) and Opalescence 35 (4 tubes) over a 14 day period, wearing the trays for 30 minutes per day. I noticed my teeth did get somewhat whiter but the top of my bottom teeth are really translucent/transparent! And the bottom of my top teeth too. Did I over bleach? Will this cause my teeth to decay and fall out due to enamel loss? What can I do to make it less transparent?
I used Crest Whitening strips and have noticed my teeth are see through from the bottom upwards. Have I ruined my teeth? I usually have resilient teeth, is it possible for my teeth to continue being strong and heathy despite this?
