Hi, I hasa face and neck lift just over a year ago with a highly trained surgeon. I have seen an ENT consultant, a neurologist and had an MRI And barium swollow. Everything is clear that leaves one conclusion I think?! It feels like a tight band from ear to ear, that often feels like Im choking. It horrendous. I kept complaining to my surgeon and he tried Botox in my neck about 6 months ago, but the very next day it felt much tighter and thus still hasnt worn off!? Sorry for typos!
Hello, I had a smas & neck lift in December 2021. Initally I was very happy with the results as I had a really bad turkey neck . About three months in I started to see a small amount of skin hanging and one side of my jawline seems quite swelled still and looks like a jowl. Over the last 6 months the skin is getting very loose again and I think it may be my Platysma bands coming back. Also I still have a lot of tightness and discomfort is that normal?
I hav a face and neck lift less than a year and a half ago. My neck skin is hanging and lower face has a sweep. It started hanging two months after surgery. What did this doctor do or not do? It was a SMAS lift supposedly.
I had a SMAS face and neck lift 15 months ago. I now have loose skin in my lower face and neck. A pinch rhytidectomy and neck lift have been suggested as a secondary procedure to correct the loose skin. I am concerned about the success of this procedure and a possibly unnatural result.
( I think most women on here would agree that the reason we pose our questions to other surgeons, is because it's just good to know what others think.) I had a facelift with a very reputable surgeon 13 months ago. He's always been there if I need to speak to him but he doesn't know why I STILL have stiffness in the muscles at the sides of my face and jawline. When I smile, there's restriction and I am constantly massaging the area. My face looks fine, it's all going on underneath.
will a lot of swelling that lasts for about 6 months (gradually lessening) after a SMAS facelift cause the skin to stretch back out - because I am not seeing the desired results after all the swelling has gone 1 year later. I am 67 years old.
I'm a year post op from smas facelift and lateral brow lift. I asked the doctor to lift my brows a tiny bit up and eliminate lax skin from forehead and emphasize on my upper cheeks that had dropped downwards. Now something is very tight in my neck. I have hard time doing sports and laying down. As if someone was squeezing my windpipe. I did not request any sort of neck lift. The doctor did something to my neck though since the feeling is very uncomfortable.
If there is a skin (only) contour issue (slightly loose & uneven under the chin, mainly around submental incision) after otherwise satisfactory result, can incisions be re-opened, skin lifted, and re-draped (with a little skin removal if necessary) to achieve a smooth contour? Would this place tension on the skin, if the underlying muscle/tissue was adequately tightened/repositioned originally? Would all original incisions need to be reopened (submental, pre & post-auricular)? Likely success?
Had SMAS facelift over a year ago. Both sides of my face (masseter??) up to the temporal area still feel like after going to the dentist, i.e., quite numb. A rather large right side area is still swollen and numbness is more pronounced. Doctor avoids giving me a direct answer. Is this a permanent condition?? Is there any way to make it feel and look normal again??
