I had a septoplasty done to help my breathing and it was unsuccessful the first time. Basically the septum started moving to one side and looked much worse than before the surgery. I had a revision surgery with a different doctor and it went well. My nose doesn't have the flexibility it once did on one side due to the spreader grafts but oh well. I'm still having sharp, wincing pains on septum if I move my nose in certain positions while eating.. or if i sneeze or cough. HELP!!!
I have a septo-rhinoplasty scheduled in a few months. I went to the doctor recently, to assess if I truly needed a septoplasty, and I found out the following information: Because of her nasal valve dysfunction, septoplasty will not correct her breathing and I have also recommended nasal valve repair with a left spreader graft. This will reinforce and open the nasal valve. Will a septoplasty surgery address nasal valve collapse? Or is that a completely different procedure?
Hit in the nose when I was 14. I had surgery to straighten my nose shortly after the incident. When I was 29, I was hit in the nose again, causing deviated septum and hard to breathe out of one nostril. I had my first consultation today with an ENT doctor who has specializations in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. The operations I will be having are as follows: nasal reconstruction with osteotomies, bilateral spreader grafts, septoplasty, and a submucosal resection of turbinates.
I had a Septoplasty with open reduction nasal fracture and spreader grafts as well as turbinate modification due to a deviated septum accident happened last year. 10 days after surgery Ive noticed the bridge of my nose is much wider and larger in general. Even tho Septoplasty is done internally would this still be due to swelling? Will it eventually thin down or are those due to spreader grafts that were placed? 2 Pictures each before breaking/after break/ after surgery included
Hi.I have internal nasal valve collapse and septum deviation. My doctor said he will do septoplasty and use graft for collapse.but i dont know which the graft is.He said that my nose tip will be more straight .i thought this could be a spreader graft.Does the graft change my nose? Because i dont like my nose tip so much
8 months ago I had a Septoplasty for deviated septum and nasal valve collapse. Dr placed grafts on both sides although only one was collapsed. Now I still have bulge on other side. Is it possible to remove, or replace with thinner graft at this time, or is this still normal swelling. Really don't like the result now! Thanks.
septorhinoplasty with spreader grafts, osteotomy, tip work 7.5 months ago. My skin is oily but not thick (I'm Northern European). Is considerable swelling in the middle third of my nose still expected? It's not awful, but my nose is larger than I would prefer and slightly uneven (doc said this is due to uneven work on one side during the procedure). Some docs said that the shape at 6 months is what you're generally stuck with- my doc said to wait a year- does he just want to delay bad news?
I got a septorhinoplasty 11 days ago to fix my deviated septum, add a spreader graft to the right side, and refine a bump on the bridge. Now, there is a hard lump on the left side of my nose near the upper 1/3. It seems to be coming out more as time passes, and is very hard so I know it is not swelling. Why is this? What can I do? I have not called the surgeon yet as I know he will just say 11 days is too premature to tell a result. Could it be from where he took cartilage from my septum?
I got my cast off today after a septorhinoplasty which involved a spreader graft on the right side and an incredibly conservative hump removal (of my request). But now it looks very wide and I do not like this, and prefer my thin nose from before. The right side is also wider than the left. Why is this and will I ever get my thin nose back? All answers are appreciated
Im having consultations for a Septoplasty. Im 45 years old, thin, healthy with thin skin. Im looking at a treatment plan & it recommends Latera Implants, Spreader Grafts, Septoplasty & Turninate Reduction. I went to my next consultation & asked about the other surgeons treatment plan compared to his & he said you are young, healthy, thin so you should absolutely NOT have Latera AND spreader grafts!! Is there truth to this or was he swaying me to choose him? Please help!!!
