My nose is asymmetrical and is slightly longer on my right side of my face its effecting my self esteem. Also my left eye loud droops more than the right and it squints more than my right. I have an issue with phlegm going back into my throat instead of always out my nostrils. It bothers me so bad noticing my nose is longer on one side. As well as sometimes when I take pictures of myself, my two issues are very noticeable. My left eye when I smile.
I had my procedure 2 days ago. I feel pretty well considering I just had surgery. However, the excessive mucus/phlegm in my throat is becoming unbearable. I cant swallow without dry heaving or almost choking on it. Ive been rinsing my mouth almost every minute, is there anything I can do/take to help alleviate this? Would mucinex help dry it up?
I'm 18 and I had a both the cosmetic and turbinate surgery done 4 months ago and I've been struggling with acne ever since. I'm pretty sure it's the result of the surgery, only it's mostly on my cheeks and not on my nose. I also had surgery on the turbinates because I had trouble breathing and at first I thought I was breathing better but I still have more phlegm and mucus.
An ENT thinks I could have an infection in my nose after revision rhino using my own rib & ear grafts. He asked me to get blood tests. I am wondering how accurate the blood tests are? Am worried because my nose is dripping on one side and feels delicate (absorbable stitches were used). I had a bad reaction from the last lot of antibiotics so I dont want more. Also my throat was bad 2 days before surgery and I coughed a lot of phlegm after surgery could that have caused an infection in my nose?
When I clear my throat and spit I see some red, especially in the morning after I wake up. This started 1 week after surgery when I went for the checkup and had my splint and stitches removed, Doctor mentioned to use Afrin, which I have for 2 days. It's certainly reduced the bleeding, but it's still happening. Not constantly, but in small qty. The blood is NOT really running down my nose, it is only coming from my throat. 1.5 weeks after surgery, Should I be concerned and what should I do?
I have been coughing up phlegm with blood for almost 2 weeks now after my rhinoplasty. Is this something that I should be concerned about, I had my surgery almost 2 weeks ago. I had my surgery in a different city that I live in so it's hard for me to go to the surgeon and for him to check up on me. Can i go to my primary physician for help?
