Can you put on 0.5 retin a and then 1.0 and then back to 0.5 and still get results.. I seemed to get alot of red marks if I use the 1.0 every night . .So I use it for a few nights and then go back to 0.5 some nights. Will i still get results doing the retin a in that way.??
When I apply it I get a dry, peeling red mark/rash all over my face, feels like its burning the spots weep. I have previously used it and stopped using it as it made my face come up with the same reaction. I was then left with darker pigmentation on certain spots, I had stopped for a few months yet they were still there and would flare up (become itchy like eczema). I decided to try the cream again, but after using it once my face reacted like this. I have eczema, and contact dermatitis too.
Updated with a photo and more info. I use prescribed Retinol 0.1% every 2nd or 3rd night. Very often I have extreme redness , itchiness and some slight swelling in patches on my face which goes away after a day or 2 and I cover these patches with Aquaphor. I am determined to soldier on until my skin becomes accustomed to Retinol. My question is, is the Retinol still effective even if irritation is present? Will the red marks left behind eventually be replaced with good skin?
