My forehead is very waxy and has small colorless bumps and red irritated acne. I tried over the counter acne products, Prescription acne products ( Ziana and Retinol A), and wash my face morning and night. Im currently using Retinol A, it has been a little over two months. It seems like it doesnt want to go away. Should I see a different dermatologist? Does anyone have a suggestion on acne products that work great?
I am getting ready to begin use of tretinoin for anti-aging. I am 32. I do not have active acne but I do consider myself to have sensitive skin prone to breakouts. Ive been given a prescription for .025 tretinoin cream but Im wondering if a compounded version with other ingredients such as niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, etc with the .025 tretinoin would be better to start with ? Or is the tube if regular tret cream just as good?
Hi, I know retinol works slower than Retin-A. Assuming it takes X years for retinol to show results, you have aged another X years. Can the effect of your aging outpace the effect of the cream, then? (The retinol is labeled with its strength, like 1%.) Im not sure if its worth getting an appointment for a prescription! Thanks!
To aid in reducing my PIH, I was prescribed tretinoin 0.025% and Azelaic acid 15% topical cream. Is it worth it to take the risk with tretinoin, or should I just stick with Azelaic acid? I would like something to smooth the dull texture of my skin and erase hyperpigmentation. My skin is slightly sensitive and when my acne does occur, I experience small comedones and textural irregularities.
49 years old, I started using Retin A 0.5% (perscription) about 3 months ago. I started once a week for 4 weeks, twice a week for 4 weeks, 3 times a week for 4 weeks now if I try 4 times a week I peel and flake. My quesion is will I ever be able to build up to 4 times or a more a week without peeling and flaking?
I have a small indented scar on my face that is year and three months old. I was hit by some type of spider. Also, I'm almost 55 and concerned about aging skin. I did some laser treatments which helped some. Can retinA micro help or hurt? Some people say return A causes scarring? Nervous now after I got my prescription. Thanks for as my advice.
I was prescribed tretinoin cream 0.025% for mild acne on my forehead and I tested a small amount on my cheek to make sure Im not allergic and the very next morning I wake up to 6 small red bumps on my cheek(I rarely break out on my cheeks). My dermatologist never said it makes u break out where there is no acne. Does this mean I should stop using the cream?
If I mix a pea sized amount of my nightly RetinA with equal amount of a moisturizer, am I getting the full prescription strength and benefit of Retin A? I have lots of irritation after two years of nightly use and my skin is completely rebeling. I'm wondering why now? I am now in hyper mode in trying to fix. Is Retin A, Drunk E. C, and a 12% Gycolic Acid cream, applied nightly, too much? If so, could I apply the vitamin c and glycolic for daytime? I use spf between 30&50 everyday. I am 52.
