I had combination of pinhole surgery and gum graft a year ago. However after the surgery, the gums didn't elongate back to the original height as much as I would have liked. The periodontist who explained this is in part because the gums will only cover the tooth as much as there is bone support. Ideally, I would like the gums to to cover the teeth by another 2mm. Is there any type of surgery or new advancement that could improve my long in the tooth appearance? I have heard about Rejuvagum.
I have gum recession and have been told that I am a candidate for Dr. Chao's Pinhole technique. I understand this technique is relatively new. It seems like the costs are about the same, but it's less painful and there is less down time. Compared to traditional grafting, is there any data out comparing long term results?
My questions is this a valid approach to fixing receding gum. I have many, many teeth that the roots are exposed. I have far too many teeth to have them grafted. Is this pinhole surgery an expensive procedure and how successful is this approach to fixing receding gums. I am desperate to fix my teeth and I have no dental insurance.
For a while I have had this issue with my gum where it was cut and healed strangely, due to the way it is now my gum doesn't sit flush with my teeth like all of my other gums do. I really would like to do something about this as I don't like the way it looks and looks worse in person and in the mirror than what might be able to be seen in the pictures.
I had a dentist appointment last week and asked about gum recession they didnt seem concerned and said my X-rays and gums looked healthy they did give me an orthodontist recommendation but other than that no cavitys everythings good but Im worried about gum recession on my top and lower front teeth I might be imagining it it dosent cause pain or discomfort just is bugging me mentally and driving me crazy worrying about something I dont even know is real
I noticed recession happening on the gums above my front two teeth which is super asymmetrical. I believe its because of switching to a new electric toothbrush which may have been too aggressive. I got bonding 10 years ago to close a gap, so I dont want to look into reshaping, as it will make my teeth appear even larger. I do plan to have the bonding redone at some point soon. I also think maybe I should get the gums on the inside of my bottom front teeth done?
