I have several flat straight-line white scars on my thighs from glass shattering in an accident 10 years ago & have olive skin tone. Will laser help? I have been told an ablative or CO2 laser may cause hyperpig w/ my skin tone. I have also been told nonablative & fractionated won't help. Should I do fractionated or non? Ablative or non? Erbium or CO2? Sciton, Fraxel, Palomar, Mixto or which other laser will work best? Can the scar shrink in width or ever get pigment? What are the dangers?
I am 22 yr old male with olive skin. My skin does tan when I stay in sun too much. But buttocks area has never faced sunlight and still is very dark. Please give any possible surgery or laser to treat it.
I have olive skin and have 3quarter- size dark hyper pigment areas on my face. I've been using Tri-Lumina which worked very well. However I recently spent a week in Ca in sun often while using 3 layers of spf 35+ sunscreen. In one week my sun spots came back with a vengeance. Is there a more permanent removal of these sun spots?
I was also told a side effect for olive skin on Tri-Luma could cause the skin to turn a blue gray in color. I'm 54 and this madness started about 8 months ago. I was also considering the Profound procedure for tightening skin but was wondering if it would worsen my malasma condition.
Problem started after taking doxy & OBCyrs ago. I have the classic butterfly all over cheeks, plus large spots on nose bridge, upper lip, & all over my forehead; only chin is spared. I am religious about no sun & use only zinc+ sunblock every day; been on hydroqu 2%, then 4, now 8% compounded plus Retin A etc for ~1.5 yrs. I have my daughter's wedding in 4 mos. Would chem peel &/or laser work for deep pigment; if the latter, which types are best for olive skin? I am wary RE: even worse outcome. Thanks!
My dermatologist suggested I use Neutrogena Age-Shield Face SPF 110 every day on areas where I get Melasma. I used Tri-Luma for 3 months and the Melasma is gone. I have been using IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ and it has been great but want to make sure that I do all I can to ensure the dark spots on my cheeks do not come back. I have light olive skin tone (Mediterranean ancestry). Looking for alternatives as high SPF Neutrogena products give me a rash.
IPL for olive toned skin will make it worse & it did on me.Peels, ok which one? Vi, melange, cosmelan, tca? (obagi creams are harsh/expensive)Maintence?custom hydrquinone/Kojic/azeliac/ retin a/arbutin mix or inhibitors? I use sunscreen daily& tinted my car.Orignially from hormone meds & mostly under eyes/cheeks.The laser also caused capillaries under eyes & nose. What can help that too?I tried a YAG/Ktp laser 3yrs ago & face swelled like a balloon,it hurt & didn't work/plus trauma created more.
