A doctor told me to get laser hair removal for 10 year folliculitis that is positive for staph (mrsa) and that didnt subside with systemic antibiotics. Topical antibiotics only eases them but theyve pop up every day for 10 years. Will laser hair removal help because someone else said bacteria can stil live in the follicle and cause folliculitis if there is no hair? I did LHR 4 treatments and it calmed my skin for 3 days then they would pop up every day again. Would IPL work?
I have folliculitis on my buttcrack area. It's not severe but it's embarrassing. I'm considering getting a laser hair removal treatment to make it go away completely but with laser you have to shave. I'm afraid when I shave every time I have a laser session that ingrown hairs will come along and leave more scars. On the top part of my butt (both cheeks) I have old tiny tiny dot scars. I have no idea where they came from. Could I microneedle them away or do I HAVE to resort to a lightening cream?
I am worried that methods of hair removal might flare up my folliculitis after Ive gotten it under control. Since shaving or waxing would most likely aggravate my folliculitis, I have to turn to a different method of hair removal. However, I didnt find enough evidence suggesting if electrolysis or laser hair removal would not cause any flare ups.
I have been experiencing folliculitis around my buttocks region for over 15 years now. Ive tried every remedy I can find over the counter and even some prescription medications. Im at the point where Id like to rid of it for good, and stop feeling so self conscious when wearing a bathing suit. Would laser hair removal help with the folliculitis? What treatments would work best for the previous scarring caused by it?
I had my first ever laser hair removal a few days back for my legs and underarms. After 3 days I broke out in severe folliculitis. I got pus filled bumps all over my legs, but my underarms seem fine. I have never had folliculitis before. I am taking antibiotics since 4 days but it doesnt seem to be getting any better. Will it leave any permanent marks on my skin? Should i continue with the next laser sessions?
I'm a 21-year-old male, on antibiotics every 2-3 weeks for the infections that get very bad and painful without treatment. I also have extreme body hair that has prevented swimming or other activities in public since middleschool. Will insurance (BCBS Georgia) cover the treatment for any reason? If not, is it still a viable treatment and good route to go, and how do I go about it?
I have very light skin and I suffer from Folliculitis on my chest. Tanning is my last result and it's been the only thing that helps. I have tried everything for over two years now. I want to try to the tanning bed perhaps once a month. I know, I know tanning is bad for you. In addition to that, next Thursday I will begin my laser hair removal on my bikini line. I was wondering if I put sun screen on the area and then put a towel of my bikini line would it be okay for me to still use the tanning bed?
Hi I just moved from the southwest to the southeast. I have had recurrent folliculitis and boils. It has gotten much worse since the move . I have taken antibiotics. The only thing that seems to help is antibacterial soap and bleach baths. I do have significant mold allergies that seem to contribute as I do have atopic dermatitis and eczema at times. Would laser hair removal help this condition for my back and abdomen? The ones my abdomen are much more virulent.
I just had my first brazillian laser removal. After 3 weeks this bumps grew. Like i have 5 of it.It lools like a pimple. At first it is painful and then goes away and the bump would just stay. There is no hair on the bumps. I want to know if it is something i should be worried about. I never had this before. And the my mons pubis gets itchy sometimes.
