I have a benign colloid thyroid nodule on the right. I was advised to do IPL laser hair removal by my dermatologist in the regions that bother me the most which is the chin and neck region in particular. My question is as follows: Will the IPL laser affect the benign thyroid nodule i have?
ive had sessions of ipl laser hair removal on the neck. i really just want it for some coarse hair on the upper neck but the technician always treats the entire neck, including below the adams apple/ thyroid area. was just wondering if this can have an effect on the thyroid (nodules/ cancer)?
I have been getting IPL Lase Genesis treatments for past 2-3 years. Recently I noticed an enlargement in my left side of the neck. I never had any problems with my Thyroid and no such condition runs in my family. I did few tests and discovered I have a 6 cm in length and 3 cm in width Cyst on my left lobe in addition to 2 or 3 solid nodules.
I have an underactive thyroid, which I'm prescribed thyroxine for. I'm considering buying a home IPL hair removal system, however, it states on the 'do not use if' list if you have any thyroid dissorder. But after reading other posts on this site, the experts seem to give different advice. If you already have thyroid problems could IPL affect it further?
