I understand BBL/IPL work well on facial pigmentation but shouldnt be used on the male beard area as they may impact facial hair growth. Are there any treatments for pigmentation that are safe for using on the beard area? I have used PicoSure and FraxelDual on my upper face, but neither of these provided any reduction in my pigmentation, and not sure if they are any safer for the beard anyhow.
I've been undergoing IPL hair removal on my face for about 18 months (treatments are about every 4-6 weeks) and I have noticed the hair on my head thinning for the past year. Researching side effect of Minoxidil (Rogaine) I found that some people suffer from unwanted hair on their arms, chest, and face. I guess my question is, if Minoxidil stimulates unwanted hair growth on untreated parts of your body, can IPL treatment trigger hair loss on untreated areas? Are hair follicles somehow related?
As a woman - my chin facial hair between ipl treatment can be shaved.. i dont see myself walking with the hairgrowth until the next session... some say wax between seetion and until the next time when the facialhair grow make your next ipl.. that makes the every 2-4 weeks session not on time... so wax or shave? thanks
Sorry to bother but I had a single IPL session in Bali for sun damage and I now have bare 'bands' where my beard used to be. I didn't expect or want this (they said it won't damage the hair). I found that the IPL was great for skin redness (I'm a fair skinned fellow with sun damage) and am keen to continue. I won't continue the IPL treatment if it means there's a risk I'll permanately loose facial hair. Any suggestions?
I currently went through and IPL treatment it has been three weeks since the treatment. I still have facial redness in spots which is highly magnified since my facial hair will not grow back and has left huge patches in my beard. This is very troublesome to myself as they patches are very noticeable even after a shave my facial hair grows very fast and i cant stand the empty patches all over my face. I had IPL for acne scars years ago various treatment never losing hair is this permanent?
As said, I have had many problems with shaving, ingrown hairs, and irritation. I have to pluck a great deal of my facial hair to reduce these symptoms and have considered IPL for a while to combat these problems. If I were to pluck an area of my face and go in for IPL treatment, will the hair follicles respond or will I have to let everything grow back out?
I have light-medium skin, brown-dark brown hair and poly-cystic ovaries. I started IPL hair removal 2 years ago on my face. Since the fuzz on my cheeks was shaved off and treated, I have had strong hair growth there that doesn't want to subside. It is particularly bad at the corners of my jaw. I was told to shave in between treatments as needed. I think this makes it worse. Lately I have been using the Braun Lumea IPL. Please advise, thank you.
