My issues is, during the surgery, my left facial nerve was injured because i had had a previous parodectomy which made the facial nerves more susceptible to injury. This info was in my history, i told the physician, pre op nurses and the surgeon but he forgot. I can not lift eyebrow. Also my salivary glad was also injured on my right side and i salivate from my incision. My results are lacking in some places. So i had 2 rare complications at the same time. Is this acceptable?
apparently my saliva gland was reacting to the surgery and was over working so had to have this drained up until 31st December. Had to go back in to have middle suture removed to ease the paralysis about two weeks post op. Im now 19 days post op but my face seems to be dropping more and speech getting harder
Why are some patient's faces pulled back so tightly during a facelift that their mouths tend to stay open or have a joker-like expression? Is the surgeon simply inexperienced or is the surgeon compensating for more sagging that will occur naturally with age? I have see photos that look painful due to the tight appearance of the skin; do some clients request this look or is is most likely due to inexperience on the surgeon's part in calculating the facelift? How is the lift calculated?
I am considering a facelift but my concern is the salivary glands and how they will be addressed in this procedure. I am slim and I can see and feel the submandibular salivary glands so it concerns me that with a tighter jaw/neck line they will be much more apparent. What is done during surgery to avoid this problem? I know I am not Robinson Crusoe here.
