I had a full face lift, neck lift and upper and lower blepharoplasty 90 days ago. A lot of the swelling has gone away, I am starting to have feeling back on the sides of the face (although the edges and top of my head are still very numb). I am very concerned with the eye bags that I now have. These were not there before, but now, they get worse as the day goes by. Is this due to swelling still? Or do I now have festoon or malar bags?
I had an endoscopic brow & cheek lift in Nov 23. Post-surgery the swelling appeared uniform. In Feb 24 it became more apparent under the eye area creating swollen festoons. Im 6 months post and it's very swollen. My doctor says it'll go by itself in a years time, and he cannot remove it w/ a needle because the liquid is mixed inside my face. I tried Indiba and massages but no improvement. Is this a normal side effect? Should I be worried? What I can to make it go away? Thank you.
I developed malar edema about 14 months ago after Botox injections in my crow's feet. Also had tiny bit of filler in cheeks in 2019. Recently, I started consulting plastic surgeons . Most suggest a preperiosteal or subperiosteal midfacelift & temple lift as a solution. Some are reluctant to operate as I still have firm skin/tissue. One surgeon recommended doxycycline injections. But these injections cause sclerosis (scarring???) Would sclerosis interfere with surgery later on?
I have malar edema/malar bags and mild midface aging. Most surgeons I've seen offer a subperiosteal mid-facelift. One surgeon has offered a preperiosteal mid-facelift along with tightening the obicularis oculi muscle and closing the anterior wall of the malar edema. I can't find any scientific studies that suggest a preperiosteal MFL for malar bags. Would this procedure be as effective as a subperiosteal MFL?
I was grosely overfilled and then treated with hyaluronidase. I now have hollowness and bags/festoons under eyes. Im 33, non smoker, eat healthy and exersise 5 times a week. My concern is my midface and eyes. I have had heavyness in my upper eyes since 25. i use botox to lift them But now i cant put eyeliner on my wing anymore. Could i have a upper/lower blepheroplasty with midface lift? Or a High smas? I have alot of laxity after competing in fitness as well.
What are the ways to treat malar festoons. Lower blepharoplasty performed without addressing malar festoons. Would midface lift help? Other suggestions. Are there surgeons that specialize in malar festoon correction, and if yes, would you have any suggestions for southern Wisconsin, Chicago area?
So Ive posted on here before and was told the issues with my under eye/upper cheek area were likely malar bags/festoons. However as suggested I had an appointment with an ophthalmologist who says the issue was related to the suborbicularis oculi fat (SOOF) and mentioned the possibility of a SOOF lift but ultimately recommended that I didnt do anything. However its still something that bothers me personally and would like to know what options were available to me. Thanks.
I am 4 weeks post-facelift with fat transfer under the eyes in the area between where under-eye skin meets upper-cheek skin (malar area?) The swelling, for the most part, has gone away. Now, however, I've developed two bags under my eyes. They are very soft and tender, and look exactly like festoons. Is this normal? Can I ask my doctor to do anything to reduce the puffiness (e.g, micro-lipo, steroid injection)? Thanks for your advice.
I consulted a Board Certified Surgeon, who diagnosed Bell's Palsy and wait for self-recovery. It has been three years, although did not recover on its own. It has worsened as the weight of the buccal/jowl fat is pulling down. Please tell me treatment suggested. The right side has just signs of regular aging for my age. My smile is asymmetric when naturally smiling, although I can still move that side intentionally.
