I had my top 2 front teeth and the bottom 3 directly underneath bonded due to breakage and damage. The bonding extends the bottom teeth slightly to the height they should have been - they were very worn with exposed pulp. The dentist said to expect my molars not to meet but this should resolve in approx 6 weeks when they readjust and settle. Is this true? I didnt think molars grew in height so how will the gap resolve? Eating is awkward at the moment and Im very anxious about it.
I had my two canine teeth bonded because I wanted to improve size and shape. The bonding achieved this and I was satisfied with it, but now my four front teeth are disproportionate to my back teeth, and the bigger canine teeth has hidden them when I smile making my smile look less full. Can bonding enlarge the other teeth in my smile arch as well? Is this something I can ask for?
Are crowns typically used in that scenario? Bonding to restore the original tooth height? The goal would be to actually lengthen top molars and heighten bottom molars back up to the typical molar height, not just cover the worn down surface of the tooth. Thanks.
One of my lower molars hurt when chewing. My dentist saw a crack and filled with bonding - to be conservative before a crown. It feels a little better every day, 5 days later - but still some pain when chewing something hard. It feels like the pain is more forward on my molar then where he did the bonding. Would additional bonding in the tooth help? I trust my dentist but wanting another opinion before I a crown. how much bonding can be done to help a molar, or other options short of a crown?
I went to the dentist about having my wisdom tooth removed. At the same time he noticed a hairline horizontal crack in one of my molars. I was not aware of it ever happening (please see pic). He said he had never seen a crack like that before. As it was an emergency appointment regarding my impacted wisdom tooth there was not time to address this finding properly. I would like to know what action (if any) I would need to take in regard to this?
I retract my jaw to chew and sometimes during speech to get my molars to make contact. Ive had braces and was urged to have jaw advancement surgery. I never did because at rest front teeth make contact, professionals always analyzed my bite with my lower jaw pulled back and molars making contact. This position gives an extreme overbite. I don't think cutting my jaw bone & moving it forward alone will make the molars touch. I'm wondering if building up the molars via bonding would improve my bite
I got a deep filling done in my molar about 6 weeks ago and it didn't hurt till the past week. However, I have been experiencing sensitivity and some mild pain in the filled tooth in the past week. My dentist says the tooth is cracked (I am responding to the bite test) and will need a crown. Is a crown absolutely necessary or should I try bonding first ?
