4 years ago, I had a chin implant placed. 5 months ago, I aggressively massaged the implant, thinking the right side was higher than the left. This led to swelling, and since then, I've noticed a total of 3 small red spots on my chin. They lasted about a week, starting tender and then being just red, about the size of a large pimple, without gland. I also felt tightening in my chin a month after the massage. Could my massage have caused an infection? If so, how can I confirm if it is?
Hello, I have a chin implant that is slightly crooked and my doctor said re-positioning it with surgery would run a huge infection risk. He said we could massage it a few times a day to try and move it slightly. Thoughts on the massaging and infection risk of shifting and implant would be greatly appreciated.
I got my small size extended an. silicone chin implant removed, 6months ago via submental incision. Implant stayed in only 2days removed due to not liking at all, so there was nocapsule formed. My chin is still wider and bigger than before which i think because of internal scar tissue. Chin feels squashy, looks puffy.I started massage gently since second of removal. I read that deep tissue massage need more pressure to be sucessfull is that true? Or does it stop tissues from sticking to bone?
4wk post op. Submental Silicone .wing of my chin implants sits too high. I can feel it near my gum and can and see from outside too under certain light angle and facial expression. On the other hand, I can still touch and feel my jawline (the bottom edge of the jawbone). I believe my surgeon didn't place it correctly but he said that's where is supposed to be and he's not gonna do anything with it. My question is: can I message the implant to stretch the pocket downward.
This is really important for me because i have no idea what to do. Its been 3months since the removal of my small 5mm silicone extended anatomical chin implant which stayed in very short time. Its been 3months some parts soften but in the center of my chin and the area above incision side is still very hard like a bone i guess its scar tissue right? Should i massage that area? To soften ?? Please tell me i dont want to mess it
I'm 1 week post op and I have been massaging the swelling around my implant. I'm wondering if there are any issues to follow by doing this? Will I move my implant by fiddling around with it this way? I had a silicone terino style 1 fixed in with stutches. The swelling is going down gradually with arnica gel and ice and so far I'm pleased with my results. I know it'll take about 3 months until all is clear but I'm sceptical now about it. Thank you.
I'm probably the last person who could call himself an expert on Chin implants. But it just seems like a terrible idea to me, this recommendation I keep hearing to massage your implant after surgery. Isn't implant displacement a huge possible problem? Wouldn't massaging it be the very last thing you want to do? What's the thinking behind this recommendation, and how much risk does it introduce in reality?
10 days since surgery - eyelids, playtsmalplasty & submental liposuction of neck, & small chin implant. Yes, I'm (evidently) a bruiser, healing unevenly. I feel like the Dr. cut off my pinkie finger and inserted it at the end of my chin. A hard mass. Still slurring speech. Fyi, my eyes were slightly uneven to begin with.... The nurse said to kind of massage my chin, but that feels somewhat painful. Watchouts? Things I should do? or over-the-counter medicine to take? Just wait & see?
I had a chin implant and cervicoplasty 4 weeks ago. At first my smile was hideous but now it's better, but not back to normal. My right side bottom lip stays higher than my left side when I smile. Also, when I talk, words that have c, d, s, t, or z make my mouth look weird. I go back to the doc in 3 weeks but until then, is there anything I can do to engage the muscle/nerve that causes this droop. Would massaging my neck help wake up the muscles/nerves that cause this weirdness?
I had a chin implant done 1 month and 2 weeks ago (the cut was made under the chin) My lower lip is a bit numb one one side, same side is sagging and is giving me a crokked smile... the whole chin muscle area looks uneven and crooked . Im terrified this will be permanent... my lip was much more numb first 4 weeks, not any more but my smile is still like the joker on one side :( my surgeon told me to massage gently around my moth. I need your opinion/advice/thoughts on this. THANK YOU.
