8 months ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer on my left side & I had a surgery. Then I had a 2nd surgery to remove my lymph nodes followed by chemotherapy .On 7/2/17, I had breast reduction on my unaffected side. It has been 2weeks & still have painful large open wound, necrosis & fat drainage below my right breast where the Tzone meet. We clean the wound 4 times a day+nonstick gauze +taking antibiotic. The wound was small & it started growing larger. Any guidance is immensely appreciated.
Does this look infected? Breast reduction on June 13. 900 grams (& change) removed from left and 1000 on right. No drains placed. Yellow oozing at both T spots. Put neosporian on it for the 1st time today. Wash daily with non-fragrance soap. About a half-a-dimes worth at most. Stitches coming out at nipple, no pain, but does it slow down healing? Do the t spots look too red/infected? Next app. July 13. Should I clean them with something else?
So I had a breast reduction 5/4/16 and I was cleared to shower on 5/6/16 but I wasn't told how exactly to clean my incisions. For now I've just been washing my upper chest and letting the sudsy water run over them. Should I actually wash my incisions? I know not to rub them with the rag but maybe pat them? Or is the way I'm doing it now fine enough?
My reduction was 5-8-14. Healed rapidly except for the top of a suture line. I'm on Actemra for RA & am concerned that my infusion will have to be held if I have an open wound. This opened on 6-1-14 & has gotten bigger & shown no sign of healing. I see my surgeon in two days. Is there any reason NOT to have this cleaned up & re-sutured? It would certainly be my preference to have it done. I've had the same issue post biopsy & after weeks of an open wound it was repaired and healed in days.
