I am getting a breast reduction and would like to get liposuction on my stomach as well. It would mostly be my upper stomach and my sides . Should I be worried about blood flow issues with having the two surgeries together ?
I had breast implants removed 7 years ago with a simultaneous lift (no complications with the implants or surgeries). Afterwards, I was a C cup but after years of hormone replacement therapy, I'm now a G cup. During a recent consultation with a board certified surgeon, he said I couldn't have a reduction because I had implants previously and they cause blood flow loss. This was before examining me. Is this blanket statement true? I thought each case varied with respect to blood flow.
I cannot find the correct term on line. I have seen plastic surgeons on two occasions-- they have told me your nipple can lose blood flow if your breasts are so long. Can someone please tell me what that measurement is? I am a 36I and was denied a reduction. no matter my weight, 320 or 170, my breasts do not shrink, in fact I've gone from DDD to the I after weight loss surgery. I'm trying to appeal and want this magical number so i can say, HEY MY NIPPLES are at risk.
I had a breast reduction yesterday I feel pretty good but Im concerned that my nipples are cold to the touch. Im not worried about the fact that I dont have any sensation yet but the fact that theyre cold make me concerned theres no blood flow however my left breast is bleeding m.
I had a breast reduction/ lift and augmentation 13 days ago. Due to blood flow during the surgery my ps only out stiches in the right nipple every so often leaving gaps so the pressure wouldn't build up and cut off the blood supply to my nipple. I have been dressing it daily with xeroform, chlorsig and gauze. I've just taken it down and seen this. Is this the beginning of infection and should I message my ps right away, my next appointment is 2 days away. Or change the dressing and wait.
Tomorrow is the two week post op mark from my breast reduction. My recovery has been extremely smooth with no issues. Yesterday, both breasts started to get red coloration to them on the lower half. I do feel like they are a bit more swollen/firm then they had been and the skin is warm to the touch. I called my surgeon and he said that it is common and is an increase in blood flow to that area. I don't have any other symptoms of infection like drainage, pain or fever but wanted thoughts?
I'm a type 1 diabetic. I also have very large breasts, 36 ddd. I've had some people tell me that breast reduction surgery is risky with diabetes because of blood flow. I know I need to get my a1c at a good number before any major surgery. I'm just worried about risk factors and the aftermath.
I am also curious as to why I have mixed stories from different doctors in regards to smoking and the affects before and after surgery. I have talked with several plastic surgeons and yet to get a logical answer when asked if smoking was the cause or what? I have never experienced anything as painful, open wounds, infection, etc. I have always been healthy and fit and some doctors will say no smoking can restrict blood flow but was not the cause, while others will scrutinize smoking? Confused
