Hello Im 42 years old and have given birth to 2 daughter more than 10 years ago and am looking at breast implants however I was diagnosed with an auto immune skin condition pemphigus vulgaris 2 years ago and went on prednisolone and am now clear with the occasional lesions in the mouth but is treated with steroid cream Is implants suitable for my condition Thanks
Hi I have RRMS since 2011. On medication Gilenya, My MS is stable and no new lesions on my MRI scan from last year. I would like to know if any breast implants will make me feel worse because of my MS? My ms team said ''There is no issues with you having general anaesthesia on the medications that you are on and definitely shouldn't stop you from having any surgery that is required'' Looking for advice. Thank you
I really want breast implants but I am worried about the risk of breast implant illness. I have read that there is a possible increased risk for those who have family history of autoimmune disease to develop BII. My maternal grandmother had rheumatoid arthritis and my father has psoriasis. I do not have any conditions (that I am aware of). My question is- should I avoid implants due to this risk, or is the level of risk low? Many thanks
The FDA recently announced a black box warning on breast implants citing among other things, the risk of systemic symptoms associated with implants (commonly referred to as BII.) Do you believe HLA-B27 is an accurate indicator of if one would develop autoimmune symptoms after receiving implants?
I had gastric bypass August 2017. And weigh a hundred and forty-three pounds now. I would like to have a breast lift and may need implants. Would like to find out if they are safe for people with autoimmune diseases.
I'm a 49yo woman considering breast augmentation, but I'm concerned about the safety. I have a very mild condition of ankylosing spondylitis and I'm HLA b27 positive. I don't take any medications as my disease has stayed at a barely detectable level for years and pain and inflammation are mild to nonexistent most of the time.
