I had worn braces from 8th grade and got them off the summer before 12th grade. I had upper and lower jaw surgery at age 16 years old due to a severe open bite and under bite. When I got my braces off I failed to wear my retainers as I was supposed to and I feel as if my teeth have shifted and now my midline is off center. Is there a way to tell? if thats the case, if so Id like to wear braces again to get my teeth back to where they were, they just dont feel as straight to me.
Last year I got braces and my orthodontist only used rubber bands on one side of my teeth (I guess to fix my bite). After that, my upper teeth seems to be shifted down and to the right. Now it looks very akward when I smile. Can I fix this problem by braces? Or are there any better methods? And how long would it take?
Alright here's the scoop, I've had braces for 1.5 years. I just got corrective jaw surgery 1 month ago because I had an overgrowth on the left side of my jaw so my chin was shifted to the right. It was nearly 1 whole tooth off. The surgery date was kind of last minute because I needed to get it done before I went to college so my molars are not quite lined up in the back. But when I relax my jaw and look at my teeth, my bottom midline seems to be the tiniest bit off. Is that even a big deal?
Hello, I had removed upper/right 2nd premolar for braces. After 18 months my teeth are straight but my midline is shifted to the right, about 3 or 4 mm (to the mid of my face). My ortho said ther was no space to moved it to the left. She did some IPR but I don't think it is enough. What are my options? Do more IPR? How much space can I get that way (do you think 3 mm is possible?). Elastics or TADs? I don't want to extract tooth! P.S. my lower midline is ok with face.
I got my braces removed a few months ago, and before they were removed I noticed that my two top teeth were about 1.5mm to the left and not aligned with my nose, and the center of my face. My bite feels goo and my teeth are straight, but they're not aligned perfectly. Is there any way to correct this, or should I keep it to maintain my bite?
