Hi, 3 months ago I had my second Botox treatment for bruxism. 4 weeks after I went back to evaluate, and the doctor added some more. The same night I noticed the left corner of my mouth was frozen, and since then I have not been able to curve the corner of my mouth when I smile. My doctor said the Botox probably migrated to the risorius muscle, but that it is weird that I saw an effect on my smile the same day. Does this mean something else is causing the crooked smile, such as a damaged nerv?
I used a different injector in April, the botox in my DAO migrated & my smile became lopsided more when I grimaced than with a natural smile, and there was a shift in my closed mouth alignment. Its still slightly lopsided. Are the chances of botox migrating increased because it happened before? Is my smile still lopsided because my muscles think its the new normal? Can I go back to my regular injector yet?
The right side of my smile is now smaller than my left, with the right upper lip is now dropping down. How long could this take to go away and what happened? I thought this was supposed to lift the lip, not numb it and cause it to drop? Also, the Botox took effect a couple days after the injections, but the crooked smile issue I just noticed over a week later. Is that possible?
I know faces are asymmetrical, but my smile/mouth has been absolutely driving me insane. My smile has progressively gotten more crooked throughout the year. It does feel like I have way more function on the right side of my mouth. It feels easier to lift than my left side. Could this be dental related? Genetics? More importantly, can it be fixed? I asked the nurse who does my botox and she said the botox likely won't do much. My thought was botox could relax the side that is lifting more.
Hi, I got masseter Botox of 25 units each side from an MD who also does plastic surgery, to slim my face. 1 week later, I got lip filler of .75 a syringe from a different injector. I started noticing my smile being crooked and my smile lines, as seen in the after photo. My smile lines were even before and I can only move one side to stretch my smile up. The other muscle cant move my mouth or smile line that far. Was this from the masseter Botox or lip filler?
I had botox in my chin 2 years ago. I felt a sharp pain at the point I of injection near my left mandible nerve. About 4-5 months after injection I noticed it impacted my bottom lip. The left side of my lip appears to poke out when I talk and smile. When I smile without talking, the left side does not pull down as far as the right but prior to the botox injection it did. My smile is now crooked. I am assuming my nerve was damaged. Is there anything that can be done to correct the problem?
I'm an essential tremor patient in my 40s, and as medication (propranolol, rivotril, xanax) are only giving limited relief for the shaking (specifically in my smiling muscles) - the neurologist r we t their botox department for just 4 units Botox in my minor and major smiling muscles in total. We're now months later and the negative side-effects are still there: a skewed smile on one side of my face. Does Botox have a typical timeline, what's my perspective here?
