I am 4 weeks post op (implants through the areola), and my right breast looks & feels larger than the left. It also seems to be sitting higher in my chest. Some days it is more obvious than others. I am very happy with my results so far but am not due to see my surgeon for another 2 weeks and just want to ask if there is anything I can do to even the breasts out. Or does anyone think I may have a problem Starting?
Answer: Breast Implants 4 weeks Post op Hi and thanks for your question. First off, congratulations on your recent procedure ! It takes time for the implants to settle and typicality one is higher than the other due to the muscle. For instance, if you are right handed, you right pectoralis muscle is stronger and will take a little longer for the implant to settle. Implants, in general, settle at different rates and can take up to 6 months for then to fall completely into the pocket created. I have my patients start massaging a week after a breast augmentation in order to soften the implants and help push them down, along with a compression sports bra and a band. I always recommend following up with your surgeon because every one has different preferences.

Answer: BA results Dear Jen P ES,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process at 4 weeks post op.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Breast implants need time to drop and fluff At 4 weeks you are about 22 percent healed, settled, softened, shaped, dropped and fluffed. "Drop and fluff" refers to the fact that as the skin stretches and the muscles relax, the implants move down and out slowly – about 1 percent a day. It’ll be about six weeks before they even begin to settle down, but they’ll be close to 80 percent settled at three months. Watching their progress is like watching your hair grow. You don’t see a difference in your hair growth daily, but all of a sudden you need a haircut. Be patient after surgery. Give yourself a few months before making a judgment about your surgical results. You won't know the outcome until then. You should express your concerns to your surgeon. Revision surgery should never be considered before 6 months, when you are closer to 90 percent settled. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author Phila., Pa.

Answer: Healing after #BA Hi there. THank you for your question and photo. Congrats on your Breast Augmentation which appears to be healing well. It is not uncommon for one breast to heal differently to the other. It wil take a good 3 months for full healing. Your right breast does look a bit more swollen and some MLD treatments should helpf to reduce this. Good luck with your recovery.
