It's not unusual to have odd sensations after breast augmentation surgery. It's still early after your surgery, and the pocket around your breast implant is still forming. Sensations can occur as the implant moves back and forth over your ribs. As a layer of smooth capsule forms these sensations almost always go away. Congratulations on your surgery.

Thank you for your questions. It is not uncommon for there to be odd sensations in the early post-op period. As the implant settles and scar tissue forms, there can be some changes. Most of these resolve with time. And at 3 weeks, it is too early to be worried about long term concerns. You best bet would be to see your surgeon for an exam and discussion of your concerns. Hello, unfortunately it's difficult to know what might be causing your unpleasant sensations without a proper assessment.  I've had some of my patients report odd sensations when the implants are first inserted, but usually this resolves.

Dear Patient: Were the implants placed under the muscle or behind the gland?  It's important you go back to the Plastic Surgeon that performed the procedure and let him know how you feel.  Unfortunately I can't give you an answer without an examination.  It is not uncommon to feel like the implant is moving or that one implant feels different than the other. I have had patients that report more discomfort on one breast more than the other, specially  if its the side where you are stronger.  I have also had patients tell me there is more sensitivity during their menstrual cycle.  I would encourage you to go back to your Plastic Surgeon, and make sure you always choose Board Certified Plastic Surgeons (ASAP, ASAPS and FACS) Hope this helps!
